Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm still 50:50 on this guy, he could either be out of his depth like others from the SPL or he could be the next Poch for us. People speak highly of him so I'm leaning to the more optimistic side. More importantly I'm just glad that we are finally finishing this manager search. Because now starts the real battle: building a proper modern structure with a DoF and a data driven recruitment department, so we can start to fix this mess of a squad. That's what will ultimately determine the future of this club more than any manager will.

Fuck it! I’m excited

This can be a stroke of genius from Levy's side ....or his last and fatal mistake. If this does not turn out "fine" then Levy simply must go. There were quality head-coaches available and yet he went with Ange. I am as inspired as when Nuno got appointed but I do of course hope Ange turns out to be the man...
I have a feeling that Levy passed up "top" head coaches simply because they would not L & L have their ways and mingle freely in football matters.

If it is big Ange , let’s face it , the guy has a monumental task ahead of him . This is going to require a lot of time and patience . Just hope that the guy is given these needs and can get us playing football the way we want to see it played .
He will certainly get my backing and if he succeeds in sorting out the mess we find ourselves in ,he will quickly become a fans favourite ( hopefully ) COYS

I'm not at all convinced by that outdated shouty/sweary approach. It may have been effective 20 years ago, but not nowadays. Let's hope that video isn't the norm. These days players like to be told they are zee light boolbs and something fucking electric cables and switches - something they don't understand - then they get all motivated. A modern manager has to be a Messiah, not a monster.
Of course a manager has to shout and go after players. You can’t just give them a cuddle when they are not doing their job. Pep loses the plot at times,Klopp is meant to be a maniac when players don’t do what’s asked of them.
At this moment in time there’s a lot of our fans will try find an excuse to not like Ange but give this guy a wee bit of time and he’ll fix us.

It doesn't matter if it's big Ange, or Angela Rippon, the job is near impossible, and I hope for his sake he gets through the next six months.

From time to time, yes, but once you've shouted and screamed that's it. There's nowhere else to go. So it has to be used very precisely. That's why I said that I hoped it wasn't the norm. If it's the norm, you've lost the battle.

So Ange likes to play a pressing game , but we all know we don’t have the players for that. He will have worked out he will need to do the opposite . First club to have depressing as its go to tactic .

Actually I am going to accentuate the positive, we are in a mess with zero feel good factor. I think if Ange gets us playing a style that makes us not want to blind ourselves, combined with his engaging personality he might just get a few of us fully on board. We should not be upset if we struggle to adapt initially , he deserves our backing for a season . He is taking over a club that on the football side is a veritable basket case and laughing stock .

Lets give him time , hoping Levy does not blow this now , I will not be able to be so charitable towards Brenton
This'll probably raise a few eyebrows but I think Kane leaving this summer is the best option for everyone.

I know Alasdair Gold has waxed lyrical about how keeping Kane for another season is worth whatever fee we'd get, but I disagree - especially if we blocked a move and made him demotivated. Turning down £100m from Real Madrid (if true) would be madness.

Kane owes us nothing and frankly I'd see him going abroad for a big chunk of change as somewhat of a parting gift (he could easily run down that contract if he wanted). Meanwhile, we could reinvest that cash into some young, hungry players. I don't believe Kane would even suit the pressing style that Big Ange will have us playing.

Painful rebuild is an oft-used phrase and that's exactly what needs to happen. No European football so a squad purge is in order, and if/when Kane goes it will represent a symbolic reset for the club.
