Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This isn't a dig at you mate..... but I just love the way people are clutching for straws and looking down holes to try and find a reason, any reason, to enthuse themselves over this appointment

:harrylol:
Yup, that's me.... You got me!

I KNOW he won't be Wenger... But you have to admit, back in 1996 it was "Arsene who?" BECAUSE he'd 'only' come from lower league French & Japanese football....

Not saying it's the same... but the patronising snobbery that goes on BECAUSE it's not some hipster European coach with tight fitting trousers and a black polo neck who people have heard of is as staggering as it is worrying!

I say Ange WILL do well at Spurs.... If given the time!
There, I fucking said it!

Beating Brentford and Stoke in the process, and penalties vs Chelsea.

He took over at 14th, but that was only 6 points off 6th, where we ended up.

Sorry to be a pedant but anything suggesting Mourinho did a good job needs some scrutiny.

Contes first season was definitely promising I'll give you that.

The proven winners haven't worked, at least Ange might be fun.
You won't think it's a bad job when we're 16th

I really dislike people like you who think it is ok to have a free shot at the fans. It is people's choice what they spend their money and if they chose to do it by going to the stadium and supporting their team I have no problem with that.

I hate the poisonous little gnome who seems to get 90% of football decisions wrong, and the other 10% is luck. I don't even give him credit for the stadium which was late and over budget. Aim your hate and vitriol at him not the fans.

I chose to give up my season ticket because I just did not enjoy going the last year because the football was shit and the atmosphere and fun non existent. We were shit even when we won.

The fact is the majority of us agree that Levy is a complete twat but we still support Spurs and want the best for the club.
The first part - of course.

The second - sleep-walking

neither of them lasted 2 years due to league form turning to absolute shit and a clear bad vibe round the team/club. bad vibe more conte, you just know when that feeling sets in whats going on and the writing is on the wall, bloke was an absolute cunt. ive never hated watching us more than with him and his poxy system that has someone like emerson royal as your main attacking threat. was the most frustrating watch of football ever.

who else is available to us? id rather have someone like postecoglou where there is a chance he could be special, than someone like rodgers whos appointment alone would break any bit of positive spirit still floating about.
Clear bad vibe, yes. Agreed.
But our league form was infinitely worse after Conte went.
I was in the out camp as he was clearly pushing for it. Even I was surprised at just how bad we got in the aftermath though.
And I'm genuinely worried now that it'll get even worse with an inexperienced coach trying to sort it out.

My mate, who spends his entire life standing outside Hotspur Way, just sent me this.

Fuck yeah! It's happening!

Seriously doubt Ange (if appointed) would have any negative impact on HK. I'd say he's already made up his mind on what he's doing but, just maybe, Ange could inspire him to stay. Quite the motivator is Ange.

Mourinho got us to a cup final, and took us from 14th in November to the Ropey league.

Conte took us from the Nono shambles to a breathtaking run to finish 4th. This season, he took a record number of points after 10 games, then had us right up near the top, and then had us a few seconds away from 3rd in the league before a bent penalty ended his sanity.
They didn't fail. They arguably both over achieved with the resources they had.
After Conte went we dropped like a fucking stone this season. It's almost as if he had a shit team punching well above its weight, even if they were fighting ugly, they were fighting.

Now let's have a crack with a bloke who has less big league experience than even Nono!
Our biggest punts in the Levy era were probably AVB (success in Portugal and European success) Poch (had Espanyol and Saints punching well above their weight) and Nono (got Wolves promoted and top half finishes in multiple seasons)

And now. Some one with nowhere near that kind of experience.
It's a massive, borderline reckless gamble
I think he will be similar to Bielsa at Leeds. Will come in with aggressive ideas on the attack and enjoy some early success until the league figures his system out. And he'll play to the fans and build up a following around his personality. The problem Bielsa faced was that when the league adjusted to him he didn't show any adaptability in his approach.

It's not great but we still love it, way better than Fosters though. Had genuinely never seen Fosters in my life until I went to the UK so bizarre that everyone thinks of it as our favourite.

It's basically New South Wales=Toohey's, Victoria=VB, Queensland=XXXX, South Australia=Coopers, Tasmania=James Boag's, I think our most popular beer is Great Northern now which is from Queensland, and outside of Coopers probably the best.
I got quite inebriated on VB when I was in Newcastle NSW in the Navy

Pretty bad hangover as I recall!
