Quality finish that.
Is he a good finisher? I know he's scored a fair few for our youth teams. Regardless, that was great movement to get the touch.

I thought that Scarlett was a bit of a Diego Costa or Calvert-Lewin type who stays in the box and uses his strength to get shooting chances. Seems to be showing other skillsets too now.

Both Devine and Scarlett are Base agency clients. Base also manage Postecoglou

If that means they get a chance, I’m good with Base. This time.
Players shouldn't be playing based on an agency agenda.
See what you did there...!

Based on that logic, I'm fine with them getting a chance... whatever the reason!

I expect to see the likes of Scarlett, Devine, White, Matthew Craig and Mundle get minutes next season... not necessarily in the league, but definitely in one of the cups, and I maybe a couple of places up for grabs on the bench on PL matchdays...

I also think/hope/reckon Udogie, Spence and Sarr will almost certainly be welcomed into the fold and given their chances too...

I might be wrong, but I THINK that might be the bigger plan!

I'm all for youngsters getting a chance as long as they've earned the right in training and not because of outside influences like which agency they're signed up to.

I'd be surprised if Scarlett and Devine aren't out on loan. Would love is to try something different with our loans. Dutch league, Belgian league. Style and physicality is like a 3/4 step toward men's football. Mundle not signing a new deal as of yet, personally think he's probably the best equipped to be used in our squad next season (oldest of those mentioned)

Really impressive. If he keeps this up during pre-season he could very well earn himself a spot in the first team squad for the season.

If not we need to set him up with a quality loan. Time for him to earn some first team minutes somehow.

yea, its vital that he gets proper minutes this year for his development. its a shame we aint even got europa league cos he would 100% be worth keeping then.

although, he might even benefit more from training with better players under ange than he would maybe going championship and getting match minutes.

exciting talent though. didnt look out of place at all and he displayed his football intelligence earlier with some nice bits of play

Think Devine is well good enough to have been kept around had we finished with Conference/Europa league football for this season. Really can't be wasting a year of his development and keeping him around now imo, find a team in the Championship that keeps the ball and wants him, and lets see what he can do with his season. Definitely a good player, will be interesting to see what level he can reach.

IIRC some Celtic fans were saying the 8s in Ange's system work so hard that he often subs them off, sometimes after an hour. Ie a 60m : 30m split shift.

If that's true, and given the fact we will inevitably pick up injuries, there is definitely a case for keeping Devine training with top technical players and getting decent minutes on the pitch.

But it also depends on the Head Coach's mentality. Conte would only put Sarr & even Bissouma on the pitch when his first choices ,Bentancur & PEH, were near death.

If Ange rotates more, splitting the minutes to keep energy levels up , to ensure the 8s are making both forward & recovery runs, then there will be opportunities for our younger squad players.

This is a fine line to thread and I think it needs to be assessed on a individual basis.

Poch believed in this principle full stop. And argument can be made that it hindered more academy players than it helped.

Carter-Vickers funnily enough has one of the more successful careers out of those Poch youngsters because he was exiled out on loan a bunch for not being deemed good enough.

It definitely doesn't suit every youngster to just stay and train with the first team.
