Maddison is the signing we can actually wait them out for. Unlike Raya/Brentford he is NOT going to want to play championship footy.

Given his quality 50-60m is justifiable if Leicester had remained in the prem. max they will get for him is around £45m.

Cant see it. They didnt really buy anyone last season because they were skint. They have just seen Tielemans walk away for nothing. Not sure a pissed off, demotivated player is going to do much for them next season. He'll go for around £48m/£52m imo.
Different circumstances - Grealish was nowhere near as established as Maddison is now. He’d been in the prem for only 2 years at 20. Maddison is 5 years in at 26.

This blokes weird, the more I watch him the more confused I become. I see good things and frankly some stuff straight out of that keeper Leeds have. I have concerns he could epically crash abs burn.
Let me work the 5 out, Davies, who nobody rates. Sessegnon who nobody rates. Udogie who apparently is a great attacker bit not a great defender. I make that 3 but 3 with ? after them defensively. Are you counting Perisic who is a left winger who has been transformed to a left wingback. He did play left back against Spain though but Spain’s attacking prowess was very poor. Can’t think of number 5. As I say we need a defensive left back to balance out the attacking Udogie. Similar to Royal and Porto on the right.
Yep good point about leaving the Maddison position till later in the window. The goalie and defence is more important to sort out early so they have time during pre season to form a cohesive unit.

I think the issue with Fernandes was wages — which is the other, equally important half of the equation not often considered here
Also there’s Euro 2024. Maddison will not stay in the 2nd tier and risk losing his England squad place that he fought so hard to get.
Any proof? Perhaps no action on a new DoF as we are waiting for Paratici to return or is there another appeal going on?

It’s not expensive doesn’t mean it’s bad. Liverpool built a great team without spending too much other than alisson and van dijk. Look at Brighton recently. Work smarter not harder
I've always felt that the vast majority of keepers are prone to mistakes. It's true when people say you have to be nuts to be a goalkeeper, I mean think back to when we were kids, who wanted to even go in goal
