We need 1 winger minimum considering Postecoglou subbed both wingers in all but 5 league games last season.

When you say winger, do you mean the wide forward in a 433? I wonder whether someone like Porro, GLC or even Ndom / Perisic plays that role? Porro definitely could IMO. GLC/Ndom possibly if he wants 8’s running beyond them (obv unlikely to be them but stylistically it’s poss). If he wants a wide touch line bigger than perhaps Perisic but tend to think he likes dribblers not crossers
Personally I think Gill is a middle third player and doesn’t have enough punch / snap to be a wide fwd
Yes, it's kind of a winger/wide forward hybrid role. GLC, Porro and Perisic (anymore) have neither the dribbling ability nor the pace to play there IMO. Gil has the dribbling ability but not the pace or strength. Ndombele is too lethargic.
Yeah. Under Conte though, it was critical that the wide attackers had goal threat as we only had 3attackers. Under Post I’m expecting 8’s and poss even full backs to play in much more advanced positions so I do think you can have a passer / creator as a fwd, and they don’t have to be a dribbler
Postecoglou was playing Maeda over Abada, despite Abada having way more end product, as he was taking on his man. Abada didn't displace Maeda until he started taking on the defenders.
