I think PL made it clear to the new Newcastle owners that they needed to fully comply with FFP, having seen the chaos caused by ManCity and Chelsea in previous years.
In my initial post I stated that Maddison wanting Spurs made it difficult for Newcastle to sign him in addition to potential ffp issues

Get rid of all of them most have been here years and are not gonna offer anything new. Get 2 CBs in abd promote players like dorrington. What is the point of having an academy and then not giving them a chance? He can’t be any worse than likes of dier Dav jasphet davies Rodon etc. they all need to go. I’d dump royal as well and give the rb birth to porro and spence. Lb to udegioe and May be reg or someone e new.
