Match Brentford fc vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR/ Sun 13th 14:00

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Richy and Son weren’t the best combo but it’s gonna take some time for them to learn to play together. Ange’s style will give us a little more leeway because where conte was essentially making the strikers be hyper clinical, Ange provides more opportunities and more scoring options

They did, but ours were an Emerson Royal worldie and a header from a set piece.

Neither team were creating clear cut, good chances from open play. Both sides had periods where they dominated.

Was a genuinely very enjoyable, close game where a draw made a lot of sense.

I don’t agree with this. We were a lot better.

Our problem defensively was that they got behind us quite a bit and our midfielders weren’t quick enough to provide support.

The penalty was absolute BS.

Our two goals were absolutely earned. A goal from a set piece is not luck. Emerson’s goal was not a worldie.

It’s not a comparison in leagues. It’s about Ange’s standards!
Ange hasn't been working with the team long and we have just lost our talisman the day before plus a less than ideal preseason ...don't forget we are coming from four years of negative reactive anti football! I think it took a while for Celtic to adapt too right?

No one is accepting a draw with Brentford as a decent result but given the circumstances there was plenty to be positive about and I imagine Ange would feel the same.

Very few teams will go there and win. They offered nothing apart from counters and it’s very difficult to play against a team that parks the bus.
Negative part of today was the right side of the pitch. The game is far too slow when the ball is on that side of the pitch. Sanchez,Royal and Skipp play with no pace. Royal was nice and tidy but takes an eternity to pass it and if he’s going to play there which I don’t think he will at home as much then he has to pass and move quicker. The way the game was going and how we were dominating then Porro is a better option in my opinion. The tempo of the game went up as soon as it goes to VDV,Madders and Udogie.
Biss was absolutely fantastic today. Madders pure class and Udogie and VDV excellent.
Against teams who are a bit more open we will destroy them.
Felt sorry for Richy as he worked like hell and had a couple of decent chances which resulted in a great block and a decent save.
At the end of the day we dominated a game when we aren’t up to full speed yet and drew due to a wrong decision for the penalty and a deflected goal. Also didn’t think it was a foul by sanchez leading up to their second.

Anyone know if Romero misses next week because of the concussion rules. He didn’t want to come off and was raging.

Add another couple of very good players to that group and we will be very good this season.

We will be an animal at home this season.

If Porro plays instead of Emerson we give up a couple more goals.

Drawing with Brentford away is a decent result.

Why is that? We were in total control and we needed an injection of pace and someone who’d hit from outside the box. Royal was poor defensively today as you saw with the second goal. He needs to get himself in a position where the wide player has to beat him. All he had to do was drop 5 yards as the free kick is being taking and it changes the whole situation.

And on my non-stream, they said that if you are substituted for concussion you have to rest 7 days minimum.

Anyone knows if that´s the case?

Doesn't appear so unless he has concussion and shouldn't play anyhow Concussion substitutions: What you need to know

the formal post-match medical assessment reveals no concussive injury, then the player is cleared to return to training as directed by the club’s medical team.

Quite enjoyed that.

Love Sarr's energy, but the match was screaming out for Lo Celso, IMO.

I suspect that Son will be more useful as a super-sub when we're winning, or our opponent is actually pressing.

Sonny's earned a few starts to find his form: Perisic - Richarlison - Son vs Utd, please.
