Anyone else completely relaxed about the squad?

We've had an excellent window and as it stands, our squad is ridiculously stronger than last season

Can anyone remember any club having such an upgrade in one window ?

I personally don't want any more signings as I'd worry about squad harmony

Daddy Ange has been given all the utensils, now watch him cook 😍😍😍

They all don't stand a chance against AngeBall

And with Don Fabio pulling the strings in the background, I'd say we are primed for world domination for quite some time 😄😄😄

I'm so excited

If we'd kept Winksy and Rodon I'd be happier, but otherwise yeah spot on

Havertz and Mount aren't spread over years. They're booked immediately. Hence Chelsea making a profit on paper. But they'll need to continue making Havertz and Mount sales every year to stay afloat.
This exactly, they can claim that this window they're ok via this ridiculous loophole, but next season they are £135m down before they even think about signing anyone, and have committed themselves to the same scenario for the next 8 years, and that £135m will only increase as they will no doubt be signing more players in the meantime too.

They will either have to become a big money version of Dortmund, or continue to act as a player farming operation (which I thought was being clamped down on?) raking money back from loan fees consistently.

They can't just be banking on European football, I don;t see how any amount of financial success that is currently available could sustain them, didn't they barely manage to break even when they won CL recently? And even if that is what they're doing, won't their spending cause them to be sanctioned the moment they enter a European competition?

Todd must think that there is something else coming that will save their ass down the line, another version of the ESL or something.

WRT the fees being booked immediately, I cannot get my head around how the books can allow that to be the case for their sales but not also have to be the case for their signings. Fact is the money is not being received in one go, it will be spread just as their purchases are. Surely this inconsistency ust encourages "creative" bookkeeping? And surely with the amount of creativity going into Chelsea's financial records they HAVE to be breaking a ton of rules somewhere along the way???

Hope Liverpool snitching opens a huge can of worms for them, but why should it take a club complaining to get the FA to look into the blatantly obvious?

Ferguson is never happening.

Recently signed a new 6 year deal and at the perfect club for his development.

He's destined for somewhere like City once Haaland moves on.

Our scouts seem well versed in Ireland so we should always be looking for the next Ferguson.

OK but isn’t that point. Orban is who our scouts have picked so why not take the gamble.

I did't say you did write the tweet.

I'm asking you if you think it's realistic to believe that Palace would sell Zaha, Olise and Eze in 1 window?

Entirely dependent on their predicament and how badly they need the money...... Zaha left for free and 35m for Olise doesn't rebuild a whole fwd line.

Shame Gil is injured we could have tried to score him a loan there.

Sensible decision by Wahi. They are just going to park him at Strasbourg until the saudis buy him.

I actually quite like this kid, he's definitely got something about, I think he's robust enough for the PL, decent technique, scores, and can carry the ball too. Makes some chances too.

Based on the tiny (YouTube) bit I've seen of Orban, I would say Wahi would seem to suit Ange's structure better.
Shows a ruthless streak to turn them down for his career prospects. No doubt his agent would have pushed him to the chavs.

He has a dodgy past but it doesn’t seem like greenwood’s or Rapey.

Still think either Orban or this kid make sense

Wonder if he was quite selective in where he wanted to go? Would've thought that many clubs would've wanted him on a free

I think VERY selective on where he wants to go - which is fair enough as his cv is very good - but he has been declined by PSV and Real Madrid (publicly stated by clubs as an option before they appointed someone else) and is now talking to '2nd ranked' clubs such as Lazio.

He's taking his time but it would be madness for him not to get a club before end of window as number of clubs wanting him next summer will decline due to age and not playing for a year.

We are never getting Eze now. We won't pay £75m or anything close to it in a million years, I don't think he's particularly worth what is being bandied about either, if he wasn't HG would be worth £30m max, even in this market.
I like him, think he could do well us. The rumour mill suggests we have firm interest but not expected to pay Palace the asking price which roughly translates to 'we are not in for him' and wasting everybody's time by being seen to be active in the pursuit of players without really having any real expectation of completing the purchase.

His age makes the rumoured price tag seem extortionate, even the lower (circa £55m) looks too high. £30 -£40 is a much more reasonable value for an experienced PL of his ability and gives Palace a reasonable return for their original (£16m + £4m add ons) though I expect the 20% sell on clause is almost likely to prohibit any deal with us i.e. a bid of £55m means Palace would only net £45m with £11m going to QPR.

The truth of the matter is, in the modern market you pay more money on "potential" then you do on established players. Clubs pay for what a player could be rather then what he is at the moment. Thats why someone like Joao Felix got sold for 120M when he was at Benfica. Thats why Real Madrid are paying 50M for a 16 year old Endrick who has barely even produced for the first team of Palmeiras yet. The same way they did for Vinicious Jr and Rodrygo.

Granted they have been very successful with it thus far but naturally their will be misses as well. Regardless that is how todays market works.Hype and Potential generates more income and garnish a bigger paycheck to acquire.
Is that why we paid Lyon £55 million for Ndombele...
It was all that potential!

Isn't that like me buying a new Ferrari in CASE I win the lottery tonight?

Barber interviewed yesterday when asked whether Ferguson might be the next one of their players to be courted by other clubs replied "yes we will considers offers for Evan....in about 5 years".
