I'm the guy saying we shouldn't read into 1 match, but there was a black hole on the right side of our attack vs Brentford. If you want to place the blame on Kulu? Sure, but I still think we need another Maddison player who can unlock defenses.

We're an attacking possession team again. Finding quality in the final 3rd, getting goals and putting games away should be a priority

Sounds funky, but are we genuinely in a position to be playing what would essentially be 2 x #10s (and just pretending they are #8s because it looks sexy on paper)?

Yup for every player there could/should be 2 or 3 clubs interested, but its a constantly moving list I think

Rennes also interested in Ndombele I understand. Question is whether we can get him off the books entirely or its another loan paying part wages

But good to see links to 7 of our players we want to move on - preferably with a decent fee
I think someone posted that Rennes manager Bruno Génésio used to manage Ndombele. And Rennes may be selling Doku?
Edit: LOL I did not see your post on P2113..

What

What if we didn't? If there's even the remote chance we can get Tapsoba for a sensible fee we do it. If you liked the way we looked last week , saw the massive upgrade VDV was over the stooges, keep in mind almost unanimously Germann football experts say Tapsob is ahead of VDV. Besides this is how we came unstuck, by allowing automatic starters. Competition for your place IS the key to success. No more sacred cows! No more Kane on one foot in ECL final No more Ledley on No knees.
As I say, maybe we did, maybe we didn't - neither you nor I know. But if we did - and we might have, it makes sense - then that would be a legitimate reason for not going after Tapsoba.

There is a huge difference between having no competition for places, and signing a player who starts in a position, then signing another player expecting to oust him from that starting place just 2 weeks later. Of course competition for places is good, but a). you can't make a player sign, and b). it makes no sense to go back on what was said to a new signing just 2 weeks after he has signed.

We were always after 2 CB's that been widely known in the media too so isnt a shock and Romero has cemented one of the spots. We cant rely on just 2 CB's, tanganga is never making it at the highest level with a top club but will have a career elsewehere , Dier cannot play in the Ange system doesnt have the attributes Ange requires which leave us with on Sanchez who might still be sold, we defo need another CB.

Has he? Was very poor last season needs to up his game if we sign another good cb or he might find himself out of the team

Lol

Olise signed a new deal you nugget. It wasn't just a rejection. Chelsea literally couldn't do anything. Theyve been wanting him for nearly an entire month. Do you think they put all their eggs in one basket or something? 😂😂😂 Moron. "next target" as if they just found someone today.

The fact you didn't just shut up when you got proven wrong about Raya/Vicario is beyond me.

But keep yapping, I guess.
"proven wrong"

yep just trying to get even like I thought. No actual intention of having a discussion...simply annoyed that you were so wrong the last time and now trying to point score.

It's fine I'll entertain you. Firstly, technically speaking the only one that was "proven wrong" was you when you said we moved on in a week which was actually proven wrong. Now I'll move away from the semantics to entertain you're bullshit again.

Olise signing a new deal is irrelevant to the conversation you "nugget". They missed out on their primary target and moved on to their secondary target in a day. The only "moron" here is you that is actually missing the point completely and going into details about Olises contract highlights this.

Take for instance our desperate need for a centre back. We highlighted VDV as the main (or second if Tapsoba was the main target). We found out price...dithered...refused to pay...only to return near the start of the season (where he missed all of preseason) to pay what they wanted anyway.

Let's go back on your statement about me being a "moron". The only person to have exhibited moronic behaviour is the poster that believed we would:

*keep Kane
AND
sign
*another cb
* Gift Orban
*and an attacking right sided midfielder.

even after it was highlighted that that would mean over 200m net spend.

please don't ever in your life call anyone a moron on here ever ever again.

There were tweets posted here today mentioning him, us & Monaco.... Sorry mate, I can't do a search for you as the search function won't scan tweets and articles.

"Credible" - Meh.....99.9% of this shit lacks credibility so do with it all what you will.
I'd rather sign Tosin than either of Lenglet or Bailly, don't get me wrong. I'd definitely take any of them over Dier; it's amazing, he's so utterly shit now im finding it hard to remember a time when he was good..

At this point it's late August and any kind of upgrade on Dier is desperately needed. Even a mostly lateral move that brings in a defender better suited to playing a high line would be far less damaging for us than having 2 of VDV, Sanchez and Romero injured or banned at the same time. Which isn't exactly out of the realm of possibility. We just need to get a fucking body in, whether we sell or not. Infuriating we seem unwilling to pursue any further acquisitions until we've offloaded all our shit.

To tell the truth I hate to see him go. He's a very good backup CB

It's a tricky one for me. I don't know if the past couple of seasons would tell us that he's a very good backup CB, but if there is a system where his best attributes can shine it would be in Ange's, which I think we've seen in a couple of games now.

If forced to choose I'd rather keep Sanchez than Dier or Tanganga for sure. If either one of them goes I still think we're deficient at CB but we could possibly get by without reinforcements if needed. If Sanchez were to go we absolutely need a replacement.

As I say, maybe we did, maybe we didn't - neither you nor I know. But if we did - and we might have, it makes sense - then that would be a legitimate reason for not going after Tapsoba.

Of course competition for places is good, but a). you can't make a player sign, and b). it makes no sense to go back on what was said to a new signing just 2 weeks after he has signed.
3 good players for two positions makes sense. I’m less bought into having two players for every position

Has he? Was very poor last season needs to up his game if we sign another good cb or he might find himself out of the team

Everyone Bar Kane & Bentancur were poor last season for us and majority of the poor play coincided with after the new year, just a fact.... Romero was still our best defender in difficult circumstances regarding Conte Ball and Conte own Crisis, add in the dumbass ill scheduled WC and him being away for the whole month winning the WC the ecstasy of it then having to refocus immediately in a dogfight under dross archaic stubborn football style. (First time ever players have Won a WC and have to be back pronto into a gruelling second half of arguably the most physically demanding league in top class football.
