Agreed we reduced the final sum paid a little, but report is quite clear on an obligation if CL gained and Kulusevski playing in more than 50% of PL matches
"That will be activated at the end of the 2022-23 season if two conditions are met during the campaign: that Kulusevski plays in 50% of the team’s Premier League matches for at least 45 minutes, and Spurs qualify for the Champions League."

Unless we qualified for the CL last season and I missed it, the conditions were not met.

Not Levy's fault, it's all Jose's as well as Conte's...didn't you read LeParisien LeParisien 's brilliant post?...
People accuse me of being condescending but both you and FightingIllini FightingIllini are seemingly unable to respond to very clear and basic English. You have both accused me of dogmatically defending levy in a post where I said:

“The biggest complaints should really be around the style of play and the managerial appointments which have been really bad. I’ve been critical of Levy for those things. It’s a serious failure of leadership.”

At some point I stop engaging because you’re unable to read very clearly expressed ideas.

Concerns about Toney are legit.... Concerns about Maddison however were due to some silly tweets he made when he was still a child.
A bit more than that. Always caution must be in mind about players, their past and the potential to improve

In that regard and from lower league clubs, we have actually done well.

Bale, Alli and Walker to name the obvious 3. Anderton as well.

Maddison is 3/4 years behind where he should be in his Spurs career but we ain't done too badly.

No... That wasn't the case... The clause evidently transpired to have related to season his 2nd season. Even Kulu himself said at the end of last seaosn that his future was uncertain.

Secondly there it was a fixed price with the obligation clause... If it was met we wouldn't have been able to negotiate a lower price with Juve a month or so into the trf window.

Without reading the loan documentation (which we don't have access to) its not possible to be certain - but Spurs actions in signing him suggest it was an obligation and it was clear Juventus intended it to be an obligation if Spurs got CL (if that were not the case there would NOT be any reference to an obligation if Spurs got CL)

It maybe there was enough ambiguity in the documentation that a compromise was made whereby Spurs paid a little less but accepted the obligation.

Ahh, of course...Lubing yourself up with a few ready made excuses in case the unthinkable happens and the window closes without us investing in a quality, proven striker....having banked £100 million for Harry Kane.:disdain:

Why would you even do this?

And then you wonder why many of us question your undying, fanatical support of Levy over the success of our football team 🤷‍♀️
Or maybe you can answer the actual football question that was posed? You know, actually contribute something to this thread for a change.

So let me pose the question again: how do you think having a different striker would change the fact that Richie took only 4 of our 57 shots?

But we did qualify for CL 6 months into the loan

No report of the deal stipulated CL had to be gained at end of loan period - so that is what you want to read but has never been said by any media summary of the deal
That's not relevant. We needed to qualify for the CL in 22/23, you're misreading the Guardian article, it specifies that both conditions have to be met during the 22/23 campaign.
