And he even smiled, it was amazing

Yes, at the time. If we didn't get our next managerial appointment right it was eminently possible. The early signs are we have (far from definitive and the quality of the performances has been overstated) so top 8 seems doable.
Well it's good to see the narrative has shifted from making fun of people who were optimistic about the appointment to admitting that he's impressed.
Of course there still has to be a stick to beat us with for being optimistic so now its that we're too excited and are acting like a cult.
Progress at last.
I think we've impressed for exactly three halves of football in 3 games. Early shoots of being entertaining but ultimately probably very beatable for good teams.
