But I'm just not blinded by the colour of their shirts. Most kids from most academies are destined for the scrap heap/lower leagues.

I can't say I've ever seen any of our youths come into the first team that I thought was average and prove me wrong.

But you were on record as saying you wanted to close the academy down.

And a number of other posters remember that, so I'm not sure we have all dreamt it.

But on the practical side, if there is a manager like Poch who fails to develop youngsters from the academy .... guess what...... none are playing in the first team. Nothing to do with Spurs academy and all to do with the manager at the time (remembering it takes about 5 years to get a youngster through to first team)

If I was being cynical…

Hojberg had agreed terms with Atleti already and it’s a great move for him.

Only Spurs or Atleti have any incentive to leak Hojberg rejecting.

Alteti if they don’t really want to spend,

Spurs if they want to save face for a shit end to the window after selling Kane.

Last outcome is Hojberg pushing for more money but would that make sense on a loan?

I actually wonder if Bentacur is the back-up for Biss. Don't get me wrong, Bents will be first choice anyway when fit, but further forward - then whenever Biss is out, Bentancur plays there, others play in the 8 roles.

EDIT: Alternatively I guess as Zomb said, Sarr could arguably cover the 6 when Biss is out.
