Hard to write this .... ...but with all this clamping down on big spending clubs , Chelsea ,ci£y and no doubt Newcastle are we probably better of keeping Levi .....just a thought..
We could have spent a lot more without breaking any rules. It’s not one or the other. You don’t have to go whole summers without signing anyone or else you in big trouble.

a transfer from 15 years ago that was reviewed by an independent panel, okayed by them, and then passed on to the FA who also okayed it.
now supposedly if new evidence comes to light they'll re-review it and it will be a 'serious breach of rules'

weirdly desperate reporting from Chelsea, but what every helps them deflect I guess

So Levy may also have breached a few rules many moons ago. I wonder what is going come from this

Luton received a 10 point deduction for the same breach.

In Spurs case it appears the FA didn't look at the allegations. They have commented that they will potentially relook the case.

This is going to be interesting.

What year did city stop us Winning the title? Chelsea just once I think. As for the cups chelsea have beating us a few times but regularly we go out to crap & average teams. What about Europe? Europa? Even the conference is too much for enic. Even West Ham have won that!
League cup 13 times neither Chelsea or city won it & same with the fa cup. I don’t think either stopped us winning any of the European competitions we were in.
Anyway. We will never agree. You think 1 league cup in 22 years is a decent return where as I don’t.

Ps. You actually are arguing against many levy lovers who maintain spending hasn’t got anything do with success. Good on you! At least you can admit it does!
It is hard with city spending so much BUT before then it was United buying up the best talent & dominating. You are basically admitting enic don’t spend enough to win things which is at least honest of you.
Also Woolwich have won a lot more than us in this period so you are saying we can’t achieve what Woolwich have under enic & levy.
My point is that it was prob easier to win a cup when Chelsea and city and now Newcastle weren’t funded by nation states.

Europe, yeah prob should have done better a few years. We’ve competed in the CL a fair bit under Enic not something I thought sec could ever achieve in the 90s/00s

West Ham won the conf fair play to them we didn’t did we have a squad good enough to win it? I’d say so yeah. So is that on Enic?

Anyway we can go round in circles all day. No point is there. We’re never gonna agree

You can't really include Newcastle. They only hit the financial jackpot last year.
Man City have only been a force for around half of ENIC's tenure, and their rise coincided with the demise of Man Utd, while Chelsea's coincided with the a decade or so of a shite Liverpool.

Whichever way you look at at, the trophy record under ENIC for one of the traditional Big 5 / Big 6 glamour clubs of English football has been a shocking failure.

Trying to blame others just doesn't cut it.

We have the wealth, the fanbase, the history and the location to do much, much better.

Yeah I saw this a minute ago, quite surprised by it.

The 7 who voted for it must be City, Newcastle, Forrest, Wolves, Chelsea, West Ham (? major shareholder owns a couple of clubs), Palace (? Textor their largest investor owns several Clubs), maybe Everton who owe multiple millions to potential new owners 777 who own a stable of Clubs.

Yeah it’s felt stale & like they have reached their ceiling. No disgrace in that. But they aren’t owners who will win you things & take you to that next level. They haven’t got it in them. Feels like they should have sold up & let someone else have a crack at it a few years ago.
We can keep acting shocked & surprised every season when we don’t win anything as per usual. But it all feels very fake & silly now! Pretending we are going win the title then settling for much less.

Yeah we go through the same cycle. Get top 4 & threaten. Don’t seize the momentum to go to the next level & instead go backwards. Transition & then get top 4 & threaten. Don’t seize the moment ……..
To be fair, no matter how much ENIC & Dan Dan annoy the eff out of me and I want them gone...there defo were occasions when we really coulda won trophies, we were in the running/reaching finals...and it's the manager and players who fucked it up.

Sure, if Levy had spent more money, especially at certain key times...and if the people in charge of identifying players had actually been good at their job (you know who I'm talking about)...well yeah we'd have had more opportunities.

But at the end of the day, we still had some fat chances and it's the coaching & playing staff that messed up...HC not picking the right players to start/shitty subs, players not showing enough will, not being brave enough etc etc.

Also gotta account for the terrible ref decisions that went against us (that friggin Sissoko 'handball' in the CL final, any big games vs Chelsea in the FA Cup...). And at other times just sheer lack of luck.

Agreed. Get top 4 every 2/3 years is more than enough for ENIC. Mainly as it increases income (as you say).
Yes if ange achieves top 4 fairly regularly then that’s all you can really ask of him considering the owners/chairman.
Yeah, I have accepted top 4 is our everything if we are honest.
Middle ground & safe is exactly us. Which was good progress up until quite a few years ago when enic hit their ceiling.
Levy is like the very vast majority of rich bosses...his no 1 priority, his absolute obsession is making money, getting richer each & every day...whatever it takes. Very much like Bezos, Musk, Branson etc, I bet you the first thing he does when he wakes up is grab his phone & check his investment portfolio, stocks, the lot. Same thing before bed. Probably also has alerts set up for when the shit hits the fan/big opps become available all of a sudden. If his accounts have gone up, his mood is bouncing. If they've hit a snag, he's atrocious. Them guys are the worst kind of addicts. I dealt with enough of them in my previous career to know how they operate.

And I'll tell you what, they don't just fucking adore cash, they equally love power & glory...and boy do they get a boner for the ages from rubbing their successes in other people's faces, especially other rich fuckers. I genuinely believe The Baldy One wants us to win...and on a regular basis. He would looooooooove being able to show off the FA Cup to his loaded pals when down at the country club.

The issue with him, and what's meant we've had nowhere near the level of opportunities we should've had, is that he just wants to win on the cheap. That is his MO. And he thinks so highly of himself, that he's so much better than anybody else, that he can succeed where others have repeatedly failed. Fuck common sense, facts, stats and history, I'm Daniel Levy, I'm a genius, I will win. But where that probably works in other sectors he's got financial interests in, football is just a total different animal.

Which part is incorrect?
These are the same folk that seems to think we have improved as a Football Club.

They don't know that Spurs had been here and arguably a bit better off in The Good Old Days before Levy. White Heart Lane was a stadium I flew 10000kms to visit. I wasn't of the means and may never, but the one player I would Love to meet is Gary Mabutt. He overcame so much and left his Heart on the pitch week in and week out.

8 FA Cups before Levy. That's why we were known as a Cup Team.

Now we have The N17 NFL stadium and Go Cart Track that doubles up as a Football stadium. May be the best in the world but lacks soul.

Well at least we both agree on spending being crucial & that enic have not spent enough to be more a lot more successful unlike many of the levy lovers. Spending has a massive impact like you say. You are preaching to the choir!
