I’ve said it before, but regardless of whether sacking Poch was the wrong or right thing to do ( I believed that he’d earned the right to rebuild the team out of principle), hiring Mourinho was awful. I was completely against it from the start and my views just became more solidified.

If I ever become the clubs owner, I will be holding show trials on the skywalk and making an example out of those who pushed and/or celebrated Mourinho coming in.

Like Cristiano Ronaldo the level of toxic he brings only works if he offers great success. When Ronaldo was scoring 40-50 goals a season you could put up with his ego and the entire team being built to support him soon as he dropped to 20 goals like at his second spell with United he was finished.

Lesson is you can be a total a cunt but you have to deliver the title, the CL as compensation and if you don’t you have failed.

Agree with all that but still a bizarre decision to sack him on the eve of a cup final as he was brought in to win silverware!

We don’t know that but I agree it wasn’t a happy place but he should have been sacked at the end of the season not before the eve of a cup final and putting a complete novice in charge

Felt sorry for Ryan and he should never have been put in that position
 
Fuck this guy. Would never have lasted as long as he did had fans been in the ground. Most of use wanted him gone in early January. All of us apart from the weird jose fans wanted him gone after he lost 3 nil to a Zagreb side whose manager was banged up. Guy is a first class prick

See my recent interaction with Shadydan about how many goals we'd score this season. I'd compiled data about how many teams finished a season with over 2gpg in the last 13 years, and how we'd only ever managed this feat once, and his retort was "stats are bullshit cos they can't account for everything". Obvious who was putting in more effort.

Sometimes you just gotta walk away.

TBF to him, Sanchez is like 90% to blame for that loss. He got fucking owned by Orsic with the same basic move over and over again.

Spun himself like a top against Gundogan in the league cup final too. He seems a good lad, but fucking hell, he had vertigo on solid ground.

Mourinho was an egotisitcal big mouthed dickhead, but did we really expect him to succeed with the likes of Sanchez, Sissoko, Moura, Winks, Nodombele, Lo Celso, Dier, Bergwijn etc. all starting week in week out?

Our current lineup is so far beyond the shite we had back then.
 
For Jose to win, he kinda needs the best team & insane amounts of cash influx on the regular. Would never ever be able to take a say Villa, Marseille or Stuttgart to the domestic title, let alone winning the CL. Same could be said of Pep and Klopp tbh. The Not-So-Special-One.

Porto: arguably the biggest club in Portugal, always a European force, had a brilliant generation to work with and could sign reinforcements for big wads. But yeah fair enough, weren't at their scintillating best when he got there & won two European comps incl big mighty CL in 2 years​

Real Madrid: only the biggest club of all-time and one with pretty much limitless funds. Ronaldo, Casillas, Kaka, Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Xabi Alonso, Ozil, Di Maria...still couldn't win the CL and got beat by Barca more often than not incl a 5-0​
