Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Agree but it seems that Spence needs to get his head right - Maybe his experience since signing with us has humbled him a bit - and when he comes back, he’ll have the right attitude and be ready to put in the work - because it looks like he has the talent/physical gifts to be a good player. Here’s hoping. 🤞
Looks like his head is getting right at Leeds.

He’s playing inverted FB on the left and looking like a total star

You really believe there's zero chance that he will perform under Postecoglou, and him playing under Nuno, Mourinho and Conte played no part in his recent form?
I think going forward he looks better, but he has dangerously low self confidence. I know that footballers thrive on confidence but he seems to have very little. His injury record is as bad as it gets, I don’t think he can be relied on.

This looks like a common trend regarding match reports about Spence; good going forward but sloppy in defense.
Spence was one of the few players Conte was right about.

Ndombele frustration, Djed Spence disappointment with Spurs starlet to return

Djed Spence (Leeds United)

Spence's Leeds United career is very much up and running now and the right-back is currently playing on the left of Daniel Farke's back four.

However, the 23-year-old had a tough day at the office on Boxing Day as Leeds lost 2-1 at Preston North End in the Championship with goalkeeper Illan Meslier sent off just eight minutes into the second half. Spence was then beaten in the air four minutes later as Alan Browne scored the opening goal of the game.

Spence got a score of five in Leeds Live's player ratings after the game with the review: "Some decent forays forward in the first half, but has to do better with Alan Browne beating him to the ball for the goal."

It was a disappointing result for the promotion chasers, who sit fourth in the table following their statement 4-0 win against high-flying Ipswich on Saturday.

After that game Spence was given a rating of eight by Leeds Live with the explanation: "By far his most complete display for the Whites so far. Really dependable in the backline, especially when he was exposed by Struijk's wanderings. Looked even better in attack, though. So quick and silky on the run. Defenders can't get the ball off him."

He’s playing in the Championship, if he doesn’t get good reviews at that level it’s not a good sign.

He should be tearing up that league if he wants to make it here. Skipp was Norwich’s best player in the Championship and most people think he’s not good enough.
