Competition Can we still win the league?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We will end up 5th I reckon. We are better than West Ham. Chelsea, United and Newcastle are hopefully too far back, but not convinced we are good enough to break into the top 4.

When you balance off the injuries we've had against the fact we will have played a lot less games than the sides around us which is a big advantage. (see Woolwich last season for example)

Your looking at about a 6.5 out of 10 season. 7 if you are a glass half full person and 6 if your glass half empty)

An improvement on last season, yes for sure. Higher than my bottom half expectation. Credit to Ange for that.

Still underwhelming.

April is going to be key for us. It's a very difficult month, but we do play Fulham and Luton going into the West Ham away game, so we have a good chance to build up a head of steam before that match. I think realistically I would be happy with a point against Newcastle away, who will be much rejuvenated like ourselves at that point, likewise if we get anything at Anfield its a positive, given its at the business end of the season I would settle for a point off City, but I think we can beat Woolwich at home, we are perfectly capable of beating West Ham if we just stop fucking handing them points for free every season, we can definitely win at Newcastle but it's a pick-'em game for me, could go either way. City at home could go either way, technically all that voodoo shit still applies to league games for them, if Son plays we are always capable of punishing them, but personally see it being a high score draw to really put all the voodoo shit to bed for them. Thing is, I feel like we can beat any of them, excepting maybe Liverpool, if we have a full contingent of players and we get a run going. Look at the first 10 games, it could've been a fucking disaster but we beat United and Liverpool at home and drew away to Woolwich.

We are perfectly capable of finishing anywhere in the top 4, I don't think we will win the PL but I don't think it's unrealistic if we get a boost from returning players in Feb we could finish 2nd or 3rd, let alone 4th.

No one truly believes we are finishing 6th right!?

That's pure kneejerk melting bollocks because people are still too emotional over getting knocked out by Man City, surely!?

😂😂😂

I know Liverpool are 8 points ahead of us but Klopp's bombshell that he plans to resign at the end of the season makes me wonder if that will have an effect on Liverpool's team morale. They are also still involved in four competitions so they will have a much heavier fixture list than us. Teams can and have dropped high leads at the top of the table before.

Man City still have Europe and the FA Cup and I feel they have a weaker team compared to last season. Gundoan is a massive loss and if we'd had Son, Bissouma and a fully fit Maddison last night, I think we would have won.

Not worried about Woolwich or Aston Villa. Chelsea, Newcastle and Man United are nowhere.

While it is a long shot, I think we are better placed to win the league this season than we have been for years. If we get our full team back and put a good run of form together, it could happen.

At this point, I feel that top 4 is the minimum we should be aiming for. If we finish behind Woolwich and any lower than 3rd, I will be disappointed.

I'm sick of this "top 4 is winning the league for Tottenham" crap. Winning the league is winning the league for Tottenham.
Yeah, top 4 is doable, but you ain't gonna win the Premier League with our squad this season, that whole idea is just a bit silly.

Sorry. I'm not buying in to this conspiracy nonsense. We're pleading more victimhood than the scousers these days.
Yes, we've had decisions go against us. But we've had some massive, game changing one's go for us too. Like Liverpool at home and City away.
There's fans of every team who swear that they're the ones being victimised.
Looking at it without any bias, I would say, if anyone, Wolves have suffered the most injustice this season

I don’t think it’s just against Spurs. But I do see us getting carded a lot more than the opposition who have been battering us all season. Yes the officiating has made some very big / strange decisions go for us as well, but that doesn’t take away the fact that there has been extreme leniency for many of the clubs we play.

In an almost tribal game with vast sums of money involved and outright immunity for refereeing; I feel compelled to bitch and complain. There are far too many refs to make a serious “conspiracy” plausible imo, but when one side is getting yellows for committing half the fouls and the other barely getting called for fouls, while still amassing double the numbers over the course of the game, and only half the cards, I lose faith in the teams chances at receiving a fairly officiated chance at winning the competition.

There’s also some remarkable quoting skills

I think we can be positive about our near future , young squad , capable of going toe to toe with anyone but of course you can always be a pessimist

not a pessimist just realistic.
