Do we have an unlimited budget in the Summer?
Dunno. Would assume if we got Osimhen we had money in the budget for other players, otherwise our transfer strategy would mega suck.
But the idea you’d be bitterly disappointed if we bought one of the most high profile strikers in the world in his prime is very funny. Osimhen would be insanely good in the Ange setup, the way we play suits a rapid, direct striker perfectly.
I know you didn't mean in style mate. But even in overall quality there's legit only one player on his level in the world and it's Mbappe. Haaland is a great finisher but as every game shows against quality oppo he's overall game is crap.
But my point still is it's fine and even worth selling top talent if you have to as long as you improve the overall 11. Maddison, VDV and Johnson are better for the club and the squad then just having Kane.
The issue is selling or losing top talent and waiting to long to replace it. Think losing Today and Moussa and replacing them in the squad with Dier and Sissoko then Ndombele. But seemingly since with got Don Pat in the recruitment has got so much better.
In the summer we need IMO better back up for the fullbacks, a new 8 cause I don't think Biss is the one and better forward unless Richie can come back and hit the ground running again. But even then still think we need another option upfront to change it up
This is a pretty silly statement.
Baked into the Premier League model (for just about all clubs barring maybe Brighton and Luton) is the premise that they will spend more than they receive in fees. That overspend is usually across several players. If one player takes up a large part of the budget then less money is spent elsewhere. Look at last year, even with the Kane money, we still spent more than we received. Neither Maddison, Micky or Johnson were particularly cheap.
You don’t just recruit on a like-for-like basis. Replacing Kane with a like-for-like EPL proven striker is absolutely impossible.
Hojlund cost United £70 million — that’s the cost of potential for a decent semi-proven forward today.
As for Kane, like Bale, he forced us into selling him. It’s got nothing to do with being a selling club. He wasn’t going to sign a new contract. If anything, we’ve held onto players too long in the last decade to shed the image — otherwise we would have moved on Sonny and Richy already.
How would buying any of these players mean the club have stepped out of their comfort zone or are like signing a player of Kane's quality - these are literally the players I'd expect the club to go for. (bar Leao)
Incidentally all these players easily fall into our wage structure - I'm not sure if Krava will be on the market, doubt Napoli will let him and Osimhen go in the same window
Buying Leao or Kvara would involve 250k+ a week wages and a 90m+ transfer fee, how in the fuck would that not be stepping out of our comfort zone? The club has NEVER done anything like that before.

It still applies with Kvara. He’s pretty much Leao level in terms of profile and would cost a similar amount. Would be our most exciting signing ever if we got him.

Kvara is closer to Kane's level than Osimhen imo. Osimhen is hype.
They might fit into it now but not what they could get on the market from their next move. Williams is better paid than anyone on our wage structure already and he plays for Bilbao btw.
You spent the whole time talking about "statement signings", "same level as Bale" (top 3 players in the world at his peak!) and "equal quality to Kane" (arguably the best ST of his generation!).......
......But now you're flipping this to being about merely style of player and that what you're bemoaning was perfectly modest all alone by citing "Toney, Zirkzee, and De Kaeteleare"..........???
Mate, you're not playing with a straight bat.
(De Kaeteleare in particular would be a 'potential' signing; a player that still hasn't quite clicked yet...... We've had an abundance of those over the years.)

£60m / 200kpw was exactly that bracket when we bought him.

Ndombele categorically has never been in the same bracket as Kvara. I’d expect Kvara to be 100m+.
Ndombele’s wage wasn’t 200k a week was it? I thought that was debunked and it was closer to 120.
I can hear the point that we traded up on aggregate with Kane money going on Maddison, Johnson and VDV but we also needed those 3 profiles of players when Kane was here too.
This is my point. We need to be adding top class players, not still at the level to sell them in order to bring more in.
We really need a dominant forward to go up a level. We don't need to sell Son to get that player and another 6 or 8. You get where I'm coming from?

And that’s not me saying I think we should sign Osimhen, we probably can’t. But it would be exciting. He’s really quick and could score shit loads.
I am saying not to sign the same style of player to Kane. I think you've got the wrong end of the stick somewhere.
We saw exactly that with GLC...... The fapping slowed down when we negotiated Sociedad down from 80m euro to about £42m (inc. loan fees) and it became; "cheap bald cunt should have bought Bruno Fernandes for 60m euro instead".
60m and 120k pw actually and that's nothing like 90m and 200-250k pw
