The draw will be fun. All those bowls and balls with bits of paper in them. No one will have a clue what the fuck’s going on.
Computer doing it. It will just be presented to us .Teams are seeded into 4 groups depending on co efficient . Play home against One team and away against another, from each group.. Top 8 straight through to last 16. Teams 9-16 play off for next 8 places. Bottom 8 go home.
Exact same for CL And Conference.
At least it might not be as predictable as the current group system.

Why I'm fixated on this window.

We need to get it right.

The margin for error is tiny.

To cover injuries/fatigue/suspensions (all-round) we must recruit proper technical quality so we can rotate and 'fill-in', properly.

I genuinely think that if Ange green-lights anymore Johnsons, we're fucked and he'll be gone by Christmas.

Quality, quality, quality.

and one of the teams is a cricket team and another is an American football team, those games are played using their sport

The semi finals will be "It's a knockout" based competitions made up of teams of boat people squatting in the postcode your teams ground is in

Getting great players in does NOT stop anyone being unlucky with injuries - remember the Chelsea game we lost 4 players to through injury and a red card, following game GBH on Bentancur so 5 players out from 2 games.

And that screwed up the season, I think Maddison was only just over his injury a few weeks ago.

BTW Johnson's 10 assists this season is more than all but 2 other players in PL, so if we need goals, he's not a big problem.

With maybe 6 or so incoming there will need to be compromises, so quality yes, but that may mean less experience or whatever and even then we will struggle to get the numbers in we want - even ManCity throwing money at the problem took 5 years or so to get a top squad, so we are not solving all squad issues in one window.

I don't care - he's shite.

And not saying we have throw money like mad; just be more discerning and skilful in procuring.

Like not spunking 50mil on a Brennan Johnson.

I don't understand how people on here can actually believe that winning something would make a difference to rival fans.

They only seem to want to win something for that reason.
If we win the ropey league, it'll be "it's a mickey mouse cup anyway"
If we won the CL it would be "the PL is the real title"
If we won both, it would be "yeah but the other teams weren't at their best"

If we were City and won everything all the time, those 115 charges would have been worked through already.

We can win this comp easy if we go full tilt. Certainly put the league and this over anything else if frankfurt can win the thing we can. Be a nice start winning things again
Frankfurt finished 11th in the Bundesliga when they won the ropey league.
Imagine putting all your eggs in the ropey league basket, being bottom half, and then losing in the final and have nothing to show for it.

I strongly believe the reason the likes of Sevilla do well in the ropey league is that there's little pressure for them to challenge for the title or even finish in the top 4 in Spain.
Sevilla won it in 2023 and finished 12th, 2016 and finished 7th, 2015 5th,

They rarely win it and finish "high" in the league. And Spain isn't the most challenging league outside of the top 2 or 3 teams.
