Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

All the best players get fouled constantly, that’s part of the game of football. That shouldn’t stop you from being effective.

His use of the ball in recent months has been utter dog dirt. Saka throws himself down and cries too but he consistently hurts opponents. As does Foden. Maddison needs to shape up and deliver. Getting fouled constantly didn’t stop Kane and Bale. Maybe he just isn’t tough enough to play at the highest level? Hopefully he answers that question on the pitch next season. We relied almost totally on him for creativity this season and it didn’t work.

with all due respect, that is nonsense. He hasn't been at his best but there are plenty of others who can take some blame as well. How you can lay it all at maddisons door i dont know
Agree block, when it keeps coming back to you ball after ball losing it up top and breaking down with no penetration it can wear you down.
Ange knows this is whats got to be priority next year the final third.
I take stock from the City game he gave Rodri the runaround a good few times not an easy thing to do.
Would want him in my team any day ,a proper ball player in my eyes without the dramatising i might add…..

People are too quick to assume that back playing after an injury = back in form and fitness.

We are starting to see who Maddison really is now, months after a long term injury. What we need to realize is that teams will continue targeting those ankles to get an advantage against us for as long as the officials allow them to. Last 2 games players have been stepping on his Achilles and going after his ankles again. Not one yellow.

If we get a player that can give us creativity when he's out, the incentive for teams to hack him is reduced.

I guarantee you if Maddison played for them, and Saka was coming through as part of our youth system, we'd be saying the total opposite:

Maddison gets fouled, but hurts opponents... Sakas just weak and cries a lot and limps!

Trossard is a prime example of a player who, had WE got, we'd be moaning about his lack of end product...
They got him from Brighton, we got Bissouma... and now look?

Bissouma would probably be a BEAST in their midfield, whereas we'd have turned Declan Rice into an expensive Harry Winks!!

It's not the players, it's the clubs they play for!
