I think we could do alot worse. At least we saw how eager he was in driving forward and taking on players. And if we are serious in going far in many competitions next season, it really doesn't hurt to have him. Some people really like to complain for the sake of complaining.
 
It's shit Levy cheapo signings like this that will get Ange the sack. Werner is bang average. He should be the answer to a pub quiz question, not the answer to our left wing issues.

He isn’t even cheap which is the problem.

He’s probably on like 100k a week to be a squad player. We could get another player for a fraction of those wages to be on the bench and use the remaining amount for a proper player in that position.

I think that since we need upgrades in so many positions (some of which as better cover for the starters), the money saved in getting a proper replacement together with other funds planned for this window, could be used in other areas of the pitch (eg. ST).

Next summer, we can get a better upgrade for Timo or maybe Moore (or someone else) might step up.

Timo is already used to most of his teammates as well as the gaffer, so there’s no need for any acclimatization period.

He's taking Solomon's place in the squad. If we deduct the sum of wages for Solomon + his incoming transfer fee with the wages of Werner, it wouldn't be a surprise if we get a profit. And he's a massive upgrade over Solomon (who didn't even play from November)...

This is why you have an academy.

Give Moore that place in the squad and save the wages for a top player like an Olise instead of giving it to Werner to do nothing.
 
Surely we've been a bit smarter on the wages than to take the full whack?

Don't think there would be many suitors who he would also be keen to join so I'd be amazed if we haven't agreed some split with Liepzig.

In any case at least it's another loan rather than a permanent deal. Frees up budget and gives us a full season to judge him on.

Flog Solomon for 5-10m and bring in a couple of big guns.
