Player Timo Werner

While I understand the intention of the offside rule wasn't to rule goals out for being millimeters ahead, atleast the rule is crystal clear, it's just the refs messing up. With semi-automatic offside, this should be cleaned up. It's harsh but fair.
The new rule could leave a lot of room to interpretation and make things even worse.

VAR will have a field day with the crayons when players are on opposing flanks of the pitch.

Would be crazy to make this permanent IMO. We need far better.

I read that Levy thinks he can get him for less than £10m, for that price he’s fine for our squad. With Perisic, Sess and Solomon all finished we need options on the left side and he’s fine as a squad player.

His finishing is godawful but he is dangerous and creates trouble for opponents. Missing out on CL will affect our budget so we may as well keep him as Son’s backup at LW and spend bigger money on a CF. Werner is also a versatile player who can play across the front, this is very important for Ange.

He doesn't have to play left wing does he? I think he's worth having as a versatile attacking player. We've got a lot of games next season and whilst he may not be the best finisher he provided quite well considering he played on his weaker side. I think £10m for someone that can play left central right or behind the striker and contribute what he did last year is worth it.

More cut price fillers for a wanting squad then.

We need players who will compete with/push players for their starting place, not more Levy 'bargains'.

We can get those too. Spending £10m on Werner will not stop us buying more important players in the positions we need the . We are not going to buy a player on the level of Son to challenge him when we have huge holes up front and in midfield.
