Player Timo Werner

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not the worst squad option ever, he can come on late in games against tiring defences and cause havoc, he's a good runner. He's way too inconsistent to ever be a solid option for the first team, he can't be relied on to produce consistently enough for where we want to be. His final ball is 85% abysmal, it's not good enough.

He's a must buy for £15-16 million. That barely gets you a decent young Championship level player these days. He's got his flaws and limitations but is a more than solid PL squad player with some pedigree.

Keep him if he's willing to accept a bench role with bench salary.

If not, he's not worth it.

It's fairly simple I think. We still need to sign a star winger (ideally for the right side), a starter CF to compete with richarlison, and Son on the left. Timo can play as a Perisic depth role essentially. That means taking a pay cut though.

Should we be buying players based on a minor change to the off-side rule?

Seems like a pretty major change to me

Conventional wisdom suggests it'll prove an advantage to a quicker attacker; but there's a flipside that argues that it is a leveler for slower attackers where-upon that lack of pace would be less of a disadvantage (both over the CB and the option of selecting a different striker instead).

Massive kick in the teeth for the defending team though...... Classic example of "entertainment" > "sporting merit and balance".
