How Dry should our Powder be?

Nobody is doubting we need to improve.

But lets not lose sight of the fact we do have positives in our squad already who we do not need to throw away - as well as players such as Solomon/Gil where an upgrade is needed which should add to both numbers and variety of types of goals scored, and ditto in a few other positions such as a LCB/LB.

Do we need to mention the positives every time that we mention the urgent business that needs to get done?

Absolutely there are positives mate. I'm more positive than some on the likes of Bergvall and Gray. I don't even see CM (8 or 6) and priority areas anymore and back up RB is also sorted.

But the priorities are the forwards. We have a weaker frontline that pretty much every team we are competing with and under this owner/chairman we have been catastrophically poor at recruiting forwards. If we can't shift Gil and Solomon I wouldn't put it past them to use it as an excuse. I can already read the Ali Gold story on football london.

Time for you to find another hobby to follow when transfer market is quiet - do you a lot of good !

The fact that you are laughing at the idea of us signing 4 starting quality players tells us everything we need to know about the ambition of this club.

You are right to laugh mate because we know they are very unlikely to fork out the 200m it will take to do it but that is what we need. It's a minimum too. Plenty on here think we need a #6 as well. And that's before you even look at our GK situation.

Toney would be a fantastic signing. Reports linking us with him today. Never paid much attention to him, but watching him for England I think hes what we need. Good focal point. Brings others into play, gets goals. Aint gonna find much better for 50m.

Toney and Eze and we cooking.

I'd be happy with just the two forwards tbh, biggest priority.

Neto + Doue completely changes our threat from both flanks. No reason we can't get it done. 100m needs to go on frontline.

6 + LCB cover would be nice but not as urgent as sorting the forward line.

As people have mentioned his pace is great and his ball playing ability is high just for me I like a CB who dominates the box and Mickey isn't there yet. Probably spent too long watching Mike England and for just one seasonRichard Gough.Dont get me wrong I really like him just not a £100m player yet,
I mean the list of 100m CBs numbers roughly zero so that's a fairly high bar. See what you're saying though, I really like Mickey but he's still got a way to go before you can put him in the Romero/Van Dijk bracket.

no way we risk 60m on an injury prone player.

1000% mate.

If we only have the budget for those 2 then do that and at least we have added real quality.

No more squad players, please. If we have to keep Ashley Phillips as the 4th CB and use VDV at LB at times, it's far from perfect but I could live with it until January if it means we get the forward line some real quality.

This is fair but if you look at the players that cost around 90-100m at CB you are looking at Gvardiol or maybe Bastoni now?

VDV isn't 60m worse than either of those. I'm not even sure I would swap him for either in the style of football we play.
