He 100% shuts out the required % of oppo transitions against us that make the difference from loss to win (more points) way, way better than Sarr.
I’ve not seen him/noticed him as someone who’s key in build-up, as Biss is for us, so I would be surprised if he’s a replacement.
More a Gallagher industrious type.

And as for Ange, well what do you expect him to say, that tbh this season he'd be pleased to get back into the top 4 and utterly delighted with 3rd, as would his overlords? Ederson from Atalanta also linked a few times. I get the impression Ange is desperate for a ball winning 8 who can run like a lunatic to prevent counters and also win the ball back in dangerous places so enable us to hold a high press for 90 mins. Very similar to Henderson profile with Klopp at Liverpool or Kante at Chelsea.

I have never been worried about them, I’ve always said we are better, but for me they have had a good transfer window and yesterday does not change that.

This is the thing this no 8 would spend half his time having to run back to recover the ball. Might as well get Usain Bolt. No 8 is gazza or scholes in the old days. Would we have been happy to see them having to run back at a speed of knots to win the ball back bcos one of our less technical forwards just cough up the ball? It’s stupid to waste a position for this role. Why not just buy a 6 or better still change the tactics slightly so we are not exposed as much. What is the old saying “defend as a team and attack as a team”.
So many people are "we need a 6" or crying for a DM when it's clear Ange sees the missing jigsaw piece as a Rottweiler type, who hounds and presses like crazy with box to box legs.

This wasn't the argument though, we know they've improved the team. People were lauding their signings over our business and saying they have more ambition than us despite the fact that no one had a clue what we were up to at that point and despite the fact that the window still isn't even closed.
It was just the usual load of premature whining and acting jealous at another clubs business you normally get in the window and those same fans go quiet when it's all said and done, boring...
Didn’t even get into Villa starting 11. If we are looking to bring in first team starting 11 quality then is Ramsey they guy? If he can’t start for Villa then why should he be good enough to start for us?

Yeh our links to players make that clear. Gray will be our long term 6 with Bissouma and Bentancur fighting for the role now.
Sarr is a good player but needs competition. Bergvall if he plays 8 is more an attacking 8 we can use when we are the superior team. I can see where a Rottweiler type comes in.
But a player like Kav would surely have got the fans excited. We needed a player like that to go straight into starting 11. Of all the players we have bought only solanke starts. Yet we needed improvement to the wide players.
From some I agree, there was that noise and that West Ham were better than us.
Like I said at that time, I just believe West Ham have done good business and have improved their side and is stand by that.
Would love them to be liquidated out of existence though

Yep, spot on. Clear as day that this is the profile he wants. That’s why I don’t believe the Locatelli stuff - he is not that type.
Think that’s tad unfair as he had Davies next to him and had to cover for him. Plus he did get back abd put in a lot of blocks. He is not always gonna be playing quality like BM. Not ideal at LB but has the recovery pace.
