Because the poster I asked watches a lot of youth U21 football.
Fine
But the point is Ogbert left youth football a couple of years ago !
What I shall call him for the duration of his time here

Maybe he’d get minutes as the more defensive of the 3 CMs? Ange has had it with Biss?
Would be a bit of a logjam at the 8 and that’s his position really. I like him though. Terrier with skills and an eye for goals
Thnk Moore and odd would be far more exciting than Johnson and Werner. Question is will Ange unleash them?Imagine him, Bergvall and Moore coming on after an hour and going nell for leather and Will perhaps.
Did you ever watch him for Genoa?? He was decent there."...but the fact that he can play out on the left, again gives us some good options"
It doesn't because he can't.
It didn't work at all when he played there.
wtf??
True but then you have many on here waxing lyrical that anges 2nd season he always wins things and that is when you see the fruits of the first season.I think your 'number 1' above is the problem, well for me anyway. I'm not sure that 'the club' has said any such thing. And as for Ange, well what do you expect him to say, that tbh this season he'd be pleased to get back into the top 4 and utterly delighted with 3rd, as would his overlords? Of course he can't say that, he has to say that he wants to challenge for the title. Who knows, he may well truly believe that, but intending and thinking you're actually going to do it are two very different things. So, with respect, your 1st point above just seems ludicrously naive. Well to me anyway - no offence intended.![]()
The Gallagher obsession is my main source of evidence for this
I didn’t say we should have got Toney I actually said may not have been ideal . However it is still true that some of the fan base would have been ok with him and chiesa. Look through the posts.Solanke is a better signing for this system than Toney, so why do you keep on fucking banging on about him.
We’ve also just signed a good winger with potential to be amazing, so again, what are you talking about.
Any chance you can make just one positive post and quit whinging through your ass.
Didn’t help that West Ham left 4 of their new signings on the bench.Obviously it will take time to gel and learn a new way of playing but I found the hysterical posts in here when they signed Summerville and Fulkrug really pathetic.
This is the thing this no 8 would spend half his time having to run back to recover the ball. Might as well get Usain Bolt. No 8 is gazza or scholes in the old days. Would we have been happy to see them having to run back at a speed of knots to win the ball back bcos one of our less technical forwards just cough up the ball? It’s stupid to waste a position for this role. Why not just buy a 6 or better still change the tactics slightly so we are not exposed as much. What is the old saying “defend as a team and attack as a team”.Ederson from Atalanta also linked a few times. I get the impression Ange is desperate for a ball winning 8 who can run like a lunatic to prevent counters and also win the ball back in dangerous places so enable us to hold a high press for 90 mins. Very similar to Henderson profile with Klopp at Liverpool or Kante at Chelsea.
We had Hojbjerg but he doesn’t have the legs for that.

I have never been worried about them, I’ve always said we are better, but for me they have had a good transfer window and yesterday does not change that.
They have improved their team considerably, whether the manager was the right choice - I have doubts, why the fuck is Antonio still starting for instance.
Anyway, I hope the cunts get relegated
Didn’t even get into Villa starting 11. If we are looking to bring in first team starting 11 quality then is Ramsey they guy? If he can’t start for Villa then why should he be good enough to start for us?
West Ham do not look as terrifying as some in this thread presented them to be.
So many people are "we need a 6" or crying for a DM when it's clear Ange sees the missing jigsaw piece as a Rottweiler type, who hounds and presses like crazy with box to box legs.
Rather than a defensive shield, it's someone who aggressively wins the ball back in the middle of the pitch.
But a player like Kav would surely have got the fans excited. We needed a player like that to go straight into starting 11. Of all the players we have bought only solanke starts. Yet we needed improvement to the wide players. Our forward options are limited until we actually see them playing. A quality forward like Solanke can change the whole complexion of our attack. A classy midfielder like Bergvall can also change the complexion of our attack. Players like Mikey and Wilson may step up, in spite of their young age and become the threats we are hoping for. And an extra year of Angeball in all players' locker can make a huge difference too.
Bottom line, until they start playing and we're 10 games into the season, we have no idea what we still need.
From some I agree, there was that noise and that West Ham were better than us.This wasn't the argument though, we know they've improved the team. People were lauding their signings over our business and saying they have more ambition than us despite the fact that no one had a clue what we were up to at that point and despite the fact that the window still isn't even closed.
It was just the usual load of premature whining and acting jealous at another clubs business you normally get in the window and those same fans go quiet when it's all said and done, boring...
Yep, spot on. Clear as day that this is the profile he wants. That’s why I don’t believe the Locatelli stuff - he is not that type.So many people are "we need a 6" or crying for a DM when it's clear Ange sees the missing jigsaw piece as a Rottweiler type, who hounds and presses like crazy with box to box legs.

Think that’s tad unfair as he had Davies next to him and had to cover for him. Plus he did get back abd put in a lot of blocks. He is not always gonna be playing quality like BM. Not ideal at LB but has the recovery pace."...but the fact that he can play out on the left, again gives us some good options"
