Yet is it so authoritarian under Ange that no one could even speak out and challenge Ange for a meaningful discussion

How are you claiming to know that then?

Its when the 15/16 side clicked and will take us up to the October international break this season. You compared the 2 seasons. Clearly we arent going to agree on this though so just going round in circles.
Conte like most of us know, where the problem is."For over 20 years there is the owner. They win nothing. Why?" .

It isn’t just two games though is it?Fucking hell you guys are quick to turn on a manager. After the Newcastle game there was a thread where most were in agreement that the performances merited more than what we have got in the first 3 games.
Was today really that bad? Yes we were toothless in attack again and had another lapse in concentration to concede a set piece goal but it was a very tight game. Some people are turning on Solanke too after just two games and having not played for a month.

13pts from the last 12. Only results have been against two relegated teams and Forest & Everton. Mid table form since those halcyon days of early last season.
Thing is, I’m sure none of us wants the psychodrama of yet another managerial change BUT Ange’s Spurs are so easy to both work out and play against. Against this you also have the ‘hipster’ cult surrounding him - thinking there’s some special alchemy that’s gonna click very very soon. It’s arrogant to come to the PL and think you don’t have to have a Plan B (or C or D etc).
The reason so many of us here and in the ground today are worried and critical is that we can’t see him changing or even tweaking things. Just the same predictable attacking ‘phases’ and even more predictable conceding of goals
really? i think thats far more exciting than watching this shit. just have to pray that they get the right manager in.Thing is, I’m sure none of us wants the psychodrama of yet another managerial change
33 seconds of what the entire problem is with this guy. It’s just bollocks.
No one gets to say things like that. He’s a real example of ‘if you’re going to talk shit, make sure it’s as ridiculous as possible so no one notices’.
He’s taking the piss.
We weren't toothless in attack. We didn't attack once at their pen area.Fucking hell you guys are quick to turn on a manager. After the Newcastle game there was a thread where most were in agreement that the performances merited more than what we have got in the first 3 games.

The really galling thing is that Arteta had 3 shit seasons and narrowly avoided the sack saveral times before coming good.Always short term though innit.
Conte to Ange got a short term improvement too. Then reality hits and the truth is there are no quick fixes.
Spot on.When the manager is a yes man for the board and talks about how happy he is with the squad then he doesn't get much sympathy from me.
There are definitely issues with the squad but when you see what the likes of Villa are doing then it's obvious a better manager gets more out of this group.
Alot of us have been saying hes out of his depth for months.Fucking hell you guys are quick to turn on a manager. After the Newcastle game there was a thread where most were in agreement that the performances merited more than what we have got in the first 3 games.

You win Post of the Day.I really think the Ange’s tactics have unnerved a lot of our players. Whenever we have to make a decision on the ball the lads seem to be more worried about the consequences of giving it away (because of the huge spaces behind us) than they are about creating a chance to score. It leads to constant hesitation, dawdling and players passing sideways.
In those first 10 games, when opponents were surprised by us, we played with freedom. Now we seem to play with real fear after losing so many games and being roasted on the break so many times.
I think some small adjustments to our tactics can mitigate that. Do we really need both FBs to push high and invert, leaving our CBs with no passing options? Can we not drop our defensive line back 10 yards and give Son just a bit more space to run into? All managers are stubborn but the best ones also make adjustments when required. It’s clear our players can’t execute the current tactics the way Ange wants.
You're right that sometimes you do need to stick with managers and get through the rough patch to see the long term vision come together. But for every 1 manager that works out for, you get 10 where when they finally do get sacked, you wonder how on earth it took so long for them to lose their job. Unfortunately stories like Fergie and Arteta are the exception, not the rule. The really galling thing is that Arteta had 3 shit seasons and narrowly avoided the sack saveral times before coming good.
I'm not sure if Ange will come good, but I don't think we'll ever find a manager that will work a miracle from day 1. We need to learn to stick with managers for a while.
Kulusevski first half? They also didn't really create much apart from set pieces and that one break that Martinelli fucked up. I think Biss was a big miss for us and he is pretty essential to how we play now.We weren't toothless in attack. We didn't attack once at their pen area.
That's on Ange.
This post has made me do something no one, AFAIK, has done before: reconsider their position based on someone else's opinion on the internet. That's what belief and conviction actually means though. Sticking to something when the easiest thing to do is lose belief and conviction.

You're not wrong. Fergie was given time (a lot). Klopp was given time. Consistency and commitment is vital. Belief is contagious. I like Ange, the players like him, they were clearly trying, but something was missing.
I'm back to thinking it will come.
Pat yourself on the back. You've earned it.
