If we just manage to stay within touching distance of Forest, I really think there's a big chance they may slip up in April-May time meaning we can pip them to 9th. Would be foolish to even think about making a change until that's mathematically impossible in my opinion.
I don't know seriously!
Either we have shit defenders, OR it's Ange's system that makes them look extremely shit.
Right now i'm leaning towards the "defenders are shit" theory.
I’m all for looking for the positives. But it does seem a bit of a stretch!
On one hand. Nottingham Forest. 2 x European cup winners.
On the other hand. Nottingham Forest. Danger man = Chris Wood.

City are on their knee's a the moment. Struggling without Rodri, KDB is getting old, loads of other starting 11 players injured. We could go there and win and all that does is give the Angebois something to clap about, and prolong the inevitable.I really cant see it. I think we're probably a battering at City or a home defeat to Fulham from pulling the plug. It really wouldnt take much now as a lot of the initial goodwill has been eroded. If we're down in 12th to 14th, which i think is likely, in the next 2 to 6 weeks then he's stuffed.
Window opens in January.Whats the panic though? Give me the logic behind sacking Ange mid season for a new manager. Worst case scenario is we finish mid table outside of European spots with no cup wins. That's exactly what happened 2 years ago so hardly a horrific scenario. So I can't see why Levy would panic and sack him mid season. We aren't going to get relegated
You make lots of valid points and yes, for sure Ange is way out of his depth at this club and in this league.I said after the Palace game and I'll say it again - I just don't see him succeeding.
Nothing points to an upward trajectory of success.
It's always the odd good result (e.g. Villa 4-1) followed a terrible one. No consistency at all.
He's been here long enough and it's the same issues time and time again:
We've handed a winless Palace and Ipswich their first victories of the season.
Terrible fist half performances.
Inability to cross a ball properly (must have gone to their keeper every time today).
Comical defending including being unable to control a football or deal with a bouncing ball.
Inability to keep clean sheets and ship goals at an alarming rate.
Relying on individual moments up front rather than creative attacking play.
Soft as sh*t away from home and versus teams who are physical.
Unable to deal with set pieces
Unable to do the basics and braindead decision making
Conceding the same goal from a cross from the left hand side constantly
Anything else i've missed?
All this is on the manager for me.
No way anyone can convince me the team we had out there today isnt capable of beating Ipswich with a better manager.
I always want every manager to succeed but I just don't see it with Ange - no team can achieve success that is so poor defensively and easy to beat.
I keep seeing that scroll for Catfish and the Bottlemen during games. I don't see Levy springing for Taylor Swift. He would make a ridiculously low offer, get rejected, and then bring in A Flock of Seagulls. We're getting what we're going to get under Ange and ENIC. It could be worse, but it's like a recurring frustrating dream.
Some great attacking displays, often more entertaining than under Jose and Conte murder ball. A European tour most seasons (a good thing, not knocking it). Lots of inconsistency and shit results too. The odd interesting signing, some more youngsters with potential. Ultimately winning nowt and finishing somewhere 5-8th, 4th if the dominos fall very fortuitously.
Maybe we'll really push on and get Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift in the summer. Pretty underwhelmed by Catfish and the Bottlemen tbh.
If Levy has any doubts about Ange at all then he will sign no players in January. I'm sorry to break it to you but he ain't pulling any trigger before christmas. You better hope that we lose nearly all our games between now and then for that to become a possiblility.City are on their knee's a the moment. Struggling without Rodri, KDB is getting old, loads of other starting 11 players injured. We could go there and win and all that does is give the Angebois something to clap about, and prolong the inevitable.
Seriously, they'll make a claim he's world class if he beats a depleted City, but at the same time, dismiss that astonishingly bad performance vs Gala last week because we made changes.
Fickle fuckers.
Window opens in January.
Manager will be wanting new toys.
Levy has to decide whether to back this one, or buy toys for the next one to try to get our season back on track.
We're not getting relegated, but bottom half is not acceptable. So much so, Levy will pull the trigger to try to stop it happening.
I mean, imagine how a call between Levy and Xabi Alonso would go. Or Zidane. Or any other serious manager not just interested in a fat paycheck. Why would he come here. Apparently he turned us down the summer Ange came in.
If that were to happen Postecoglou could still get through it, but he has to be careful now because (to your point) these losses are eroding the good will he has built up. It would help if, after losses, he talked in football terms about what went wrong. Instead he talks philosophy and attitude. Showing that he understands what went wrong on the field and talking about how it is fixable would help. I'm afraid he eventually will lose his composure with an interviewer and that could put him in a bad position. With managers that's often when the blood gets in the water and the media sharks start circling.I still think he can make adjustments and continue some of the positive things he's done. Whether he can move past this "No Plan B" idea is the question.I really cant see it. I think we're probably a battering at City or a home defeat to Fulham from pulling the plug. It really wouldnt take much now as a lot of the initial goodwill has been eroded. If we're down in 12th to 14th, which i think is likely, in the next 2 to 6 weeks then he's stuffed.
Heres a list of managers Levy has sacked before Christmas in previous seasons. Hoddle, Santini, Jol, Ramos, AVB, Poch, Nuno. It happens a lot and most were having similar or better seasons than the one we're currently having. If Levy has any doubts about Ange at all then he will sign no players in January. I'm sorry to break it to you but he ain't pulling any trigger before christmas. You better hope that we lose nearly all our games between now and then for that to become a possiblility.
I'll keep cheering for the team and hope it doesn't get to that stage.
Some people will do anything to avoid paying for a Christmas card.Heres a list of managers Levy has sacked before Christmas in previous seasons. Hoddle, Santini, Jol, Ramos, AVB, Poch, Nuno. It happens a lot and most were having similar or better seasons than the one we're currently having.
14 pts from 12 games when sacked. I mean with City next so likely 16 pts from 12 games. Similar and Poch had a ton of credit in the bank and a much tougher start.
Lol, lets see in the coming games. Just don't go silent and hide when your asses are wrong.
I think I clearly stated before this was going to happen. You were the one delusional thinking Ange was next Pep or something . The man can't win 2 games straight and we lost against fucking ipswich and you still talking?Funny, you didn't think to reply after West Ham, City, or Villa games. You seem very keen to prove a point too.
18th Oct our last exchange... Sort of proves it isn't ALL bad really, otherwise you'd have posted that a lot sooner, right?
It is incredibly inconsistent though.
We are not the only inconsistent team, while we do keep having these shit results / performances, we are still just 3 points from 3rd, and we are also capable of the sort of performances like Spam, City and Villa.
If we didn't even have those, I would be more impatient.
Until all hope is removed and we are playing shit every game, I want to believe in this manager, as difficult as he makes it sometimes
Also under Levy there is no hope for any manager. Might as well let Ange's reign run its course and maybe against all odds he actually does win something. He is our manager for now, we should try to enjoy it.... there is ZERO guarantee that the next one will be better... it can always get worse. Once that new bounce euphoria wears off, they are all just a few losses away from being turned on anyway.
Levy appointed a 57yo manager who had no prior elite league experience, who usually stays at a club 2 or 3 years at most, whose system had clear question marks over it from the off for anybody who knows football even a little. I mean, even his personality - behind the Mr Nice Guy act now crumbling fast - would/should've raised a few flags had they done their due diligence, something we know they do not...Ndombele, Lo Celso, Richarlison anyone?Levy & enic hold us back with their opposite priorities to us fans. & ange like all managers is very restricted by them but still should be doing better especially when the league is open & weak. But if you blame ange then you blame levy for another managerial appointment failure!
We've had an easy start. The games are going to get harder and come faster, and when that happened towards the end of last season we completely capitulatedDo you mean pretty much the exact same level we are at?
There are 4 points between 3 & 12th - We might be unable to maintain any consistency but so is everyone else bar Liverpool.
Doesnt excuse Ange but we have been so inconsistent this season and 3rd is only 3 points ahead of us..... they arent doing well either.
