I’m not really Ange out as I’m fed up of us constantly firing managers & never correcting the main problem at the club but I’ve just been watching Alister Gold and he got a quote from Ange saying “ they got younger players in as you can not replace experience with experience because that is not a rebuild “

What the fuck is he on about ? This constant business flannel of rebuild / transition , it’s a poor excuse . How about improving the bloody squad from the previous season ? That’s just common sense

im in the same boat
maybe one solution could when ange get the sack , to be without a manger 4 2 years and see how it goes
or like they did on "never mind the buzzcocks" and have a guest host/manger each week

The 5 seasons before he joined them they had won the treble 4 times out of 5.

The season before he joined they didn’t win one trophy. That was the crisis he walked into. 2nd in the league having lost 5 times and conceding 29 goals. That league is such a shambles.

Not so much steadying a sinking ship as just turning the ships engine back on after it stalled.
Yeah they had one slightly off season I think it was when Gerrard was Rangers manager.

To all the people who are fine with abusing Ange, were you also fine with abusing Brennan, to the point he had to disable social media and his personality in videos visibly changed?

No

There’s a difference between criticism and abuse but some can’t see it

I still think that with the right coaching Brennan could become a player for us

Yeah we are but let's be honest managing Fulham and Bournemouth is completely different to managing us.

Iraola couldn't win a game at the start of last season, it wasn't until around November/December time they turned into a half decent side. Imagine that happened here? You'd have fans wanting him out after 5 games.

Marco Silva has been at Fulham 4 years now, so he has had plenty of time to implement his style.

In a way you need to have more trust in what's happening and see the bigger picture, those fans that were abusing Ange were the same ones probably having the time of their lives against Man City 2 weeks ago and yet only the other night they were turning things toxic.

I've said time and time again on here I don't think Ange is the messiah, but fans don't have any patience anymore. Even last season after finishing as the 5th best team in the league we had posters on here moaning about stuff.

Exactly.

Iraola is just as stubborn as Ange in terms of adapting his playing style. It's little tweaks here and there rather than playing completely differently regardless of the oppo.

I swear some fans literally love the drama. They love the new coach vibes and getting all the attention from the media and having a nice warm bubble to live in for a bit. They then get bored and just want that new dopamine rush from a new manager because frankly, if we don't win a trophy, they need to get their dopamine rush from somewhere.

COVID year too. World was a very strange place.

Not saying Stevie G knew how to get black market asthma medicine off some scallies in Liverpool either……,

But 4 seasons of Trebles in a row previously. How much of a mess can you really be in?
Ha - interesting that since 2013 when it was renamed the Scottish Premiership, Celtic have won the title every year except once.

Yes agreed

You wouldn’t call anyone a fat cunt in real life so why at a football match?

Criticise him after the game and call out his tactics like subbing Sarr with Son yes and do it loudly but no need for foul language!
Absolutely. No way is it right to call Ange a fat cunt. Or shout these sort of things at players. I don't get that thinking. They're not stupid; they know they were shit better than anyone. Meet them with stone-cold silence and arms crossed when they come over and give their little clap. That's a pretty blatant message that all isn't well in the fandom. But verbal abuse is a big no for me.

It could be a raffle like that Omaze house thingy

Nice little earner

Qualified to judge are you!
He presents as as very shy and reserved man who does not suffer idiots, which would include 99% of the the press corp!
Shy and reserved? Are we watching the same individual here? The only time Ange gives the impression of someone who is “shy and reserved” is when he is under pressure and running damage control.

Until of course, someone challenges his opinion and then ego mode kicks in and you can watch that illusion dissolve in real time and the insecurity comes out in full force.

It’s my opinion, it’s not that he “does not suffer idiots” and more that he believes his logic is infallible and doesn’t like people questioning him or challenging his belief system.

My opinion is just based on observations of his behaviour btw and I acknowledge I could be completely wrong and missing the mark as I am most certainly not an expert in behavioural science.

2 games to go for Postecoglou.

Get beaten heavily tomorrow and then lose to Rangees, both of which are more likely than not, then only Levy's leniency saves him.

The issue for ne is whether there is confidence that even with necessary reinforcements that Postecoglou has what it takes?

Frank for me, or Potter.

Rangers tricky one. AT home they are not easy beats with those rabid supporters.
Lost only once in past 12 games.

sh*t i thought ange would last till at least end of his contract but suddenly i sense/mood vibes changing quick-fast.

And I respect that this is your opinion, however when you have to handle a playing group of individuals who have varying sized egos and the same goes for a press contingent who believe they are immune to critique he cannot possibly be accused of being insecure!

I came on this site when Spurs were considering signing Angi to warn you against it....

"Just a word to those of you looking forward to Angie as your manager.......
....... If you want to judge Angie's quality as a manager, you can't look to his accomplishments in a bigoted Scotland or in a Japanese league, judge his tactics when Celtic play European opposition ......
..... Celtics results in Europe are embarrassing and Angie's tactics are naive - even against teams who aren't in the top leagues.
At best, Angie's managerial skills are at a mid Championship league level and that's pushing it.
....... Ange, to make a long story short is - sh*te!"

And what did I get for trying to do you a favour - fuckin' dog's abuse .... then again, it wasn't quite as bad as calling me 'a fat cunt'. LMFAO

So, based on the appeciatiation I got for giving you advice that turned out to be true, I'd say, along with karma, you got what you fuckin deserve, didn't yi!

cheerio!

Thank you Mr Hun!

I did get the privilege to see Jim Baxter a few times and he was a special player!

He hasn't done anything in his career that would justify him being here, and he hasn't done anything here since then. And it has been more than a year, we're not talking about a Nuno situation where the guy got sacked in less than 6 months. So IMO the default stance against Ange's tenure should be that it was a huge failure and he needs to be replaced. You're perfectly entitled to think otherwise, but the burden of proof is on you. Not on those who think he's not good enough.

That being said, I'm so repulsed by the scenario of sacking him around Christmas / New Year and having to endure 6 months of Mason that I'm willing to see him carry on, at least for the time being. Levy won't snag someone from his club mid-season, and I don't see any world beaters among managers that are currently available. So unless he really sinks the ship, keep him til the summer. Not as a vote of confidence, but as a sign of the grimness of the alternatives.
