Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

How often has it been said nobody is signed without his approval?
Levy: "Angie babes, I know you asked for experienced players with a high ceiling. Have I got news for you... top scorer in 16/17 Bundesliga, played for Chavski, German international. No, no you definitely haven't seen him play for us before. Top choice. That or nothing. Good process."

He didn't have to prioritise anything last season and we've had a similar outcome in results, injuries and performances, Albeit we are better in attack at times because we have an actual CF.

But we are worse in defence possibly because not having PEH, Royal and even Dier at times, who are naturally defensive players with experience.

Ange said he doesn't change tactically and that the individuals on pitch determine a different outcome........so he doesn't really do anything does he.

The fact that we lost Maddison and Bentacur to being hacked, Romero and Bissouma to red cards and VDV to a hamstring all at the same time and then lost Son, Sarr and Bissouma to continental cups is something only Tottenham Hotspur could do.

And we didn't have a similar outcome in results, we finished 5th. We are currently 11th, it's much worse this year.

Levy is not picking the team or the tactics
the manager could choose to walk and say Levy did not get the players I wanted or he could change his system and work with the fit players, BUT NO, this manager keeps playing his way to ensure he gets the sack and a BIG payoff
Are you paying any attention to what's actually happening at the club right now or just parroting the narrative?

With the news of Radu's injury today we now have ZERO available centre backs at the club.

What serious club goes into a season knowing that it's in an expanded Europa cup with just three CB's and one utility player?? (Davies). All to cut the wage bill.

The squad Ange was expected to compete with on all fronts was an accident waiting to happen and an absolute disgrace. And it's not just CB it's all over the squad. We are short in the full back positions yet expecting the players to attack and defend and absolutely flogging them to pieces.

Yeah Anges tactics are an issue but he plays one way, so again ultimately it comes down to Levy for hiring him in the first place knowing his philosophy.

No manager is doing fuck all with this squad and definitely not with the injuries.

Wake the fuck up.

This cycle of hiring and firing has to end and the poisonous dwarf needs to go.

Just an endlessly fascinating manager of a wild football team. There is a growing sense that while it’s all quite fun (for neutrals at least) he really is just building – at, it should be noted, huge expense – the most ‘Lads, it’s Tottenham’ Tottenham team yet.

That sensational dismantling of Man City was Spurs’ 10th win in 14 games across three competitions after being outwitted by Woolwich in the NLD, and yet the defeats were all unbelievably stupid: from 2-0 up at Brighton, at a Palace team that hadn’t won a league game in their first eight attempts, a Europa schooling at Galatasaray that somehow ended only 3-2, and at home against an Ipswich team looking for a first win in their 11th attempt.

And since that magnificent win at City, Spurs have been, frankly, sh*t. They’ve drawn snatched a draw from the jaws of victory against Roma, drew a game they should have lost at home to Fulham and then produced an abject display in defeat to Bournemouth which got the away fans’ backs up and Ange’s back up at the fans’ backs being up. And then done another real big stupid v Chelsea, attempted a feat of staggering self-sabotage against United in the Carabao which Ange thought was all a great laugh and then succeeded in a mission previously thought impossible: suffering a 6-3 defeat in which that scoreline could be reasonably preceded by the word ‘only’. And in amongst all that they also managed to go 5-0 up before half-time against Southampton.

The pattern is clear: when they are good, Postecoglou’s Spurs blow teams away. Even your Villas and Man Citys. Even Southampton. But when they are bad they generally get nothing, against anyone. And they are bad just far, far too often. They were particularly poor v Nottingham Forest.

Really does feel like if Spurs are happy to go back to the good old pre-Big Six days of being an entertaining but ultimately irrelevant team who’ll have some good days and some terrible days while finishing mid-table and maybe having a bit of a run at a cup occasionally, then Big Ange is absolutely fine. But increasingly hard to see how playing what at times amounts to wilfully stupid football stupidly ever amounts to more than that.

Ange Postecoglou on the transfer window:
"It's an important one. If we add what we need to add and fits what trying to do… our league position not great but it’s super tight and we’re not that far off. In semi-final of Carabao Cup and still in great position in Europe and FA Cup. Still everything to play for to make it a season where we can have success. Need help and club working very hard to make that happen."

Who was surprised by yesterday's result and method of defeat?
Nuno...right lads hold 'em on the edge of our box, win a tackle give it to Gibbs-White, sprint 30 yards. Lay it into the path of Elanga, Bob's yer uncle!
