but all this hype around another spurs academy player its just that hype started by the coaching staff
The hype wasn't started by our coaching staff, it was started because he was consistently massively out-performing everyone else in his age group at both club level and youth international level. He got 14 goals and 8 assists from 11 starts last season in the U18 PL at 16 and half his goals were mazy runs out of nothing. He got 4 goals and an assist from 4 games at the U17 euros and is now playing up a level in England U19s along with Nwaneri. He's considered top 2 in his age-group in England.

I thought he went down way too easy. Obviously not going to be too hard on a 17 year old that is just starting out but flicking the ball around a defender and then running into him isn’t going to work at this level.

In the first half I thought in a prem game he would have gotten 2-3 fouls from kicks and obstructions but against lower league those kind of fouls are much more tolerated.

Was just getting into the groove of things and then was taken off.

Hope to see him get starts ahead of Werner/BJ in the Europa League now. PL he should get some cameos but too early for starts.

The kids just come back from.a shitty virus that leveled him. And that'd what he looked like zero snap or fizz in him. Might be months before he is properly at it. People need to chill, he is going to be an excellent footballer but he's at least 15 months from EPL domination

Worth looking at a 'half season' report on Mikey Moore :

Europa League - 2 starts (Ferencvaros & Alkmaar) and 1 sub appearance - 183 mins
Premier League - 4 sub appearance - 83 mins
League Cup - 1 sub appearance (Man City) - 22 mins
FA Cup - 1 start - 69 mins

Total - 3 starts and 6 sub appearances - 357 mins

Also appeared for Spurs u21;s playing Bristol Rovers (a weakened EFL side, but a mens side) playing 90 mins (1 goal and 2 assists)

In the 2nd half of the season, Ange should l see him as a more experienced youngster, so he should have more minutes and opportunities (eg next 2 EL matches v Hoffenheim and Elfsburg) so he may finish the season with circa 1.000 minutes played (guessedimated 650 mins in 2nd half of season) - a pretty good first season for a 17 year old which would set him up nicely for next season. He could have got an assist or two today if passing to anyone but Werner - and goals/assists will be his next nut to crack !

Anyone hating on the lad at this stage might want to re-read the first couple of pages on tge Harry Kane thread….

He wasn’t brilliant yesterday but the team weren’t at the races today; he’s a kid ffs. Not saying ‘he’s the next HK’ but give the lad a chance.

Also he hasn’t played any football in three months after illness. Of course he was gonna be rusty and a bit tentative.

Why in the first half was it nearly always he got the ball then played it backwards, rarely took on his man
second half he was better & appeared to be trying to go forward

You must have some high standards for a 17 year old - what did you think of a young Messi when you first saw him?

Too small to make it, all left foot, can barely use his right - and bit of a scruffy git to boot. All hype, won't amount to anything.

Moore has such quality. Thinks look grim now, things are very grim now, but we have a handful of real quality players aged 17-19 that gives at least some hope for the future. Sarr has been terrible for a few months now, really not at the races.
