So it turns out we did have all our eggs in the Kolo Muani basket and had no genuine back up plan. The sheer audacity to assume he'd choose to come here instead of a champions league club just shows how out of touch both Lange and Levy are. The club's reputation is decreasing by the day!

Dibling in the Summer sounds great and is another long term project signing. We'll probably get Cardoso from Real Betis in the Summer too who is another young prospect. Thats all great and we can kid ourselves that we'll be the best team in 3/4 years..

The problem is right now the team lacks experience and quality and we've done nothing about it and have basically just wrote off another season.
 
So about the fact Dane Scarlett was recalled over a week ago because he was meant to be sent out somewhere else.

He's still here. Isn't January a mad rush where it's impossible to do deals for Championship teams too?

Scarlett and in particular Lankshear rotting away as the manager clearly doesnt trust them but they have to stay to be bodies in the squad. Tremendous for their development.

Still could’ve got RKM if we’d offered an obligation to buy or just bought him. We can’t have liked him that much if we were only interested in a loan

They are not of the level, let's not kid ourselves into thinking that they'd make a difference here especially at the moment, they're not good enough it's that simple.

Reckon they'll both go on loan now, I think the plan was to send Lankshear out on loan once we got cover which probably will still happen.

They are nowhere near the races. Both will be lucky to start in the championship. League 1 loans probably more realistic.

I do find it funny how some fans just assume they should be playing more. There is levels to the game and they are nowhere near premier league standard. I hope they get there some day but its a long journey for them

Problem then is Ange only wants players who wants to play for us which is a great principle in theory, but in our current situation what player would genuinely want to go out of their way to play for us... I think we have to accept that our reputation is currently in the mud and we need to convince players to come here rather than the other way around!

That’s mainly PR though when it comes to big name players. It’s really easy, you pay the player and they always wanted to play for you after all.

Look at the players who now always dreamed of playing in the Saudi Pro League… they are all making their childhood dreams come true.

Fair points.

I think it's temporary and still think we can secure the majority of the players we might want, but in the event of a choice of us and a few other clubs, I think we might struggle.

We should still be looking at exciting talent, but also experience to go along with that.

Dibling would be a great signing. We missed out on the likes of Eze, Olise and Bowen because we thought they weren't ready.
