Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It'll be annoying not spending that 60m on another player now. Is there any 60m players who want to join us? Sounds like Lange has been found out for not having any homework done on who wants to join us and who doesn't.

He can't hide behind his "works in silence" reputation anymore. He's been dossing for the last 6 months and now its been totally exposed. I imagine he'll be moved on from the club after this window

Our league position will be a huge deterent for the kind of player you have in mind; cos they will all have just as many suitors in the summer and they can afford to wait and see if Spurs steady the ship instead of committing to us now.

Still most likely the biggest thing to have given Tel cold feet too.

Apparently the people who reported that said the deal is still on. He just hasn’t said yes until after the Milan derby.
Dunno but the report I posted a link to says that;

''But Sky Italy now report that after holding talks with the Lilywhites, the England international has decided he wants to stay at the San Siro.

This marks the second time in less than 24 hours that a player has snubbed a transfer to Postecoglou’s team, with Mathys Tel rejecting a £50m move in order to stay at Bayern Munich.''

Squarely on the manager for having us in 15th. Nothing more to it. Probably a plan in place based on us being atleast in the top 6. No one at the club players included are at the level required. Years on penny pinching coming home to roost.

Yeah you quoted the metro, might aswell said my mate big dave from the pub told me

He is right that the Normans established the boundaries of modern England though. Edward the Confessor only controlled Wessex, the rest of England (Mercia, East Anglia and Northumbria) was controlled by different Earls ... and 2 of those were Danish. The Normans were themselves Vikings, so at the end of the day the whole history is basically a Scandinavian civil war.

The borders of England were established before 1066 though - the earls of the various regions (former kingdoms) whether Kent or Northumberland or Mercia regarded Edward the Confessor as King, although they had some regional autonomy - some a lot of regional autonomy but Mercia (via marriage of a Wessex princess) had very close ties to Wessex.

Wiliam's idea of being King was very different to the Anglo Saxon's - very little regional autonomy other than where William appointed one or more of 'his ' nobles to 'rule a region such as the 'Marcher' lords along English Welsh border.

So tomori has rejected us. guess he wants to be 1st choice and knows he wont get that here when everyone is fit.

Its a balancing act for Spurs - I think we are right to go for players who will improve us, but there are not many of those players and they will often be no 1 at their current club so might not relish competing with Romero and Van de Ven to be most likely to start.

The alternative is we sign younger/less well established players who will grown into being top players in a year or two or we buy a few 'squad level' players.

You say that like it’s as easy as changing your underpants! 😂

All this Levy out stuff is just pissing in the wind.

ENIC won’t go anywhere on anything other than their own terms.

Whilst I think this true; if people want them out they should (actively) fight to make that happen......

Whinging changes nothing..... Neither does declaring "we need a new owner" like it's some kind of original thought for the world to ponder.

It's not just the league position. Tons of bottom feeder clubs bring in January signings to try and save the season every year.

It's much more the general mismanagement and lack of football strategy for us.
They obviously have no strategy. It’s a month into the window and now they’re chasing and being linked with players. That’s pathetic for a club that’s been in this injury scenario for so long, for the second year in a row. And the players they’re chasing? They’re all players where it’s widely known that they might be available.

A club with a plan would’ve had these links and deals rolling a month ago, to get some business done early and help your manager out. And, if you planned on sacking him, you’d still do this because it’s how a prudent and structured organization would run. That’s not what we have though; we have a reactionary, chaotic mess.
