Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We've dropped points in 11 games since December started. 26 goals conceded in those games.
Defenders and no.6 needed far more than any attacking player.
Solanke is out til early march and Richy is an injury waiting to happen, I really think we need another forward in. If by some miracle we get past Liverpool in midweek we will have the league cup final to play, could also be the Europa league RO16 first leg on 6 march, as well as the FA cup 4th round and 5th if we progress on 1 march, can you honestly see us being able to lean on Richarlison that heavily? We really need a forward, IMO.

Really worried that we don't sign another attacking player.

While yesterday was a fantastic performance and result. We look very light up top without Solanke.

One of the dirty secrets right now is that our defense has been outperforming our offense. In the midst of a defensive injury crisis.

We need more offense so badly still. We are still hurting immensely from the loss of Odobert early on in the season.

Never said we don't need a forward. Just that defenders and DM needed far more.
If you don't concede you only need to score once. Lately we need to score 3 just to get a point.

Not to mention the extra games in European comps this season, some teams playing 4 additional fixtures compared to the old format to reach the same stage of the tournament. Seems strange that we recognised in the 90s that high fixture load wasn't conducive to high quality football when the league capacity was reduced but now the powers that be are taking us backwards in terms of player welfare in favour of maximising their own revenue. At the end of the day, why should a load of suits be able to make decisions that massively affect players' welfare and long term careers without any input from the players themselves?
The really annoying thing is because of how tribal football support is, any manager or player who speaks out about this issue is largely derided by rival fans with platitudes like "everyone else has to deal with it", "player X moaning again, surprise surprise" etc etc, do we as fans really want more games squeezed into the calendar than ever if the cost is having elite players spending months at a time in the physio room with muscular injuries? I don't think we do tbh.

100% agree. Great post.

Ahhhhh so close. We came within a hair of signing guehi

Deaw Cwystal Palace chaiwman, I heawby offer you £70m for Mawk Gwey-he
:levystare:

Dear Daniel, thank you for your kind offer. Given there remains half a season of PL football to play, we could only accept an offer of £70m plus a human hair.
