I remember last year the argument was always that because we weren’t in Europe and we got knocked out of both domestic cups early, we weren’t playing enough games to get into a rhythm.

This year, the argument has been that we’ve been playing too many games so we’re suffering with fatigue and injuries.

There just always seems to be some sort of excuse. Lots of other teams seem to manage fine, why can’t we?
Spot on! I remember that as well. There always a few making excuses like scheduling. It’s all the bloody same and some times we get a bigger break than the oppo and we’d still lose. I recall on game week where we had to wait 10 days betw matches. Think it might have been v goons who had two leg CL ganes in betw a d they still whopped us.

Yeah, it’s complex for sure.
It is?
you still have to decide whether you think it’s a price worth paying (and you just try to recruit accordingly) because you want to watch aggressive, high energy football,
...that loses...
and/or you hope Ange learns to adjust a little (like Klopp did)...
...but have now realized that he can't because if he could then he would have by now instead blaming all and sundry as deflection...
It’s also interesting that Brighton and Bournemouth are also suffering high injuries, as these are also teams applying differing but aggressive high energy methods.
...and actually doing it competently and winning all the while.

We were shit before the injuries, BC...say it with me, we were shit before the injuries...it's not the injuries. And if he genuinely did think it was the injuries then what accommodations has he implemented?

Tbh I don’t really think this is the case. I don’t think any fans are backing him because of his personality which, frankly, isn’t even all that.

I believe some fans are still (somewhat) backing him because they are sick to death of new managers, new projects, new era’s, new dawns, whatever bullshit buzzword you want to call it and are just trying to cling to anything that could resemble stability and an actual long term plan. Fans are also rightly finally starting to see that it’s not all the coaches fault, and that the reason we are in such a chaotic mess is Daniel Levy and the board.

For what it’s worth, I think Ange probably should go now. We’re in too much of a rut, it’s becoming too Toxic and untenable, and Mason would probably steady the ship enough to allow us to sneak into the top half if we get some players back etc.
But in the longer term, any fan that thinks that getting rid of Ange and getting in someone like Iraola will change things is having a laugh. This squad is an imbalanced clusterfuck filled with deadwood, ageing players and whilst there’s a few promising young players, it will require outrageously expensive surgery to make us a genuinely competitive team again.

Ange in. Ange out. Doesn’t matter a fuck in the long term - whilst those parasites remain at the top we are going to remain very much stuck in the mud as a football club.
Maybe doesn’t but at least we will look like a properly coached professional football team.

This has to fucking end tonight.

Levy is taking the absolute piss out of this fan base.

Spurs under Ange are a joke.

How the fuck Pedro Porro is getting a game anywhere near the defence is beyond me.

Porro is so fucking shit at defending it's unbelievable.

Pep deserves a cut of the 40 million the miser paid for the twat.

He got 80% of the Walker money back and sold Spurs this clown.
Although Tbf is it Porro or Ange’s tactics?

Strange how his only started coming out with all the injuries BS since we have been knocked out of both cups. Was it only the other day he was saying we are in 4 competitions not sure what the 4th was abd he’d rather be involved than watching on TV. Also one of those was just getting to 4 th round after just about beating Tamworth. Yet he made out it was some amazing thing that we were still in all the cups and it was a big achievement. Further it’s not been 2.5 months since we lost most of our players. Solanke, Werner, Johnson who all stank the place out v Tamworth only got injured mid Jan.

Im Out GIF

Quite.

Yet people think we will get everyone back and it’ll be like that again. We’ve got them back twice already and it hasn’t happened.

February last year and the start of the season. Practically fully fit squads. And in that time 50% losses lol

I think Postecoglou should go but the constant ins and outs makes it difficult for the team to have any fluency. Players that play together regularly develop an understanding that can't be coached on the training pitch. So its not just about having the starting eleven available, they need to play together in matches and they need to do it week-in, week-out. The entire Postecoglou period has been unsettled.

We just seem like we’re treading water before the inevitable departure.

I just want it done now!
We're pissing away next season essentially. Next coach will have too little time to assess the squad and get them up to speed with (hopefully) new tactical ideas. These things take time and ideally you'd do it now when the season is gone to shit anyway. At very least see if anything at all can be done with this fucking midfield that after two years no one knows who's job is what, who is playing and for what reason. Ange made such a mess of it, he hates it himself hence chopping and changing and pulling them out at half time so often.

No it's a manager issue but not for the reason Klaus keeps misrepresenting.

Postecoglou's Spurs were the best pressing team in Europe in the for 4 months of the season. High turnovers were streets ahead of any other team.

The problem is that injuries have caused a massive turnover in the squad and limited rotation so you have second 11 players now trying to emulate first team training in actual matches every three days with no rest and no time for the training you need as a unit. This is exacerbated by having new players added in the window but with zero time available for training and familiarisation with the triggers and automations.

TLDR - Postecoglou's press is one of the best in Europe but injuries have fucked it.

Why is this the manager's fault? Because if you dont have time to drill the press properly into the players you've have to bring in to replace the 10 injured players then you shouldn't try to press when it involved taking such high risks.

Hence Porro leaping out hideously late, vacating his are and exposing new player Danso to a complete wtf moment.

So can't blame assistants because they literally don't have the time to train the press into this cobbled together group because they play every 3 days.

So the manager should have called the press off - or at least stopped the suicidal shit Porro does each and every fucking game.
All he needed to do to was tell Porro not to go marauding up field straight from KO!

Except he has a number of options he isn’t using Who are less tired

You’re also clearly wron g re Kinsky. SOP for Gks to play 30-50 games a season with midweek. No reason at all why Ange should’ be calling him out effectiley saying Vicario is better. And in any event he has Austin who had done well when he’s come in.
He kept banging on about a 21 yr old GK. well he signed off on him. We had Austin who he could have played but won’t. I think Fraser is fit now as well. He chooses to Toni ahead of the other then complains his playing a 21 yr old. Ffs couldn’t make it up.

Freezing players out given the circumstances is beyond crazy. Reggie limited but had passable loans at 2 clubs last season, not ideal but he could have played in a few games. Spence was on that list until he had no choice, Lankshear could have played more minutes. Ajayi scored a worldie from the bench and hasnt had 1 minute since.
I really don’t get why he couldn’t have thrown Ajayi on for a few mins v both dippers and villa. Other teams will put on some youngsters. What is there to lose? I really don’t get it. He complains about not being able to rotate and sane players have played for 2 months. Well on Sunday he could have played gray CM, reg LB, Davies CB and Spence RB. But he choose not to that is on him.
