There's loads of things to use to beat ENIC/Levy with, Newcastle is not one of them.

Since they got taken over by the new owners they’ve won a trophy in double quick time and have established themselves extremely quickly as a top 4 contender.
That despite being blocked/obstructed by FFP thus facing windows of doing very little.
Superb post, nailed it in just a couple of paragraphs. We have been told that winning is hard, yet Newcastle has shown us with ambition aligned with a good coach and signings, what can be achieved, winning isn't that hard.Since they got taken over by the new owners they’ve won a trophy in double quick time and have established themselves extremely quickly as a top 4 contender.

FFS, they've won one trophy, you all talk as though they've done the treble or something. They are one game different to us so far - we have had several finals in the last 10 years, and lost them all (not to mention loads of semi-finals). Are you seriously saying that Newcastle are better-run than us, more ambitious than us, simply because they have won one cup final when we lost all of ours?Superb post, nailed it in just a couple of paragraphs. Off the pitch financially we are probably better run.FFS, they've won one trophy, you all talk as though they've done the treble or something. As the other poster quite rightly said earlier, there are plenty of reasons to beat up Levy / ENIC - Newcastle, and them winning a single cup final, is NOT one of them.
Winning consistently definitely is very hard, hence why hardly any clubs have done it in the last 20 years. If Newcastle have 2 more trophies in 2 years time then I'll happily accept they've been better managed to do so (from the top I mean, not just Steady Eddie). Winning the odd rare trophy needs a lot of luck, something we didn't get when we (to be fair) ballsed up our finals in recent years. Newcastle faced an unusually out-of-sorts Liverpool who on any other day would have battered them.
I don't disagree that they are better than us on the pitch right now, but that's not what your post was saying at all. You were saying that them winning one trophy proves their ambition - given that there is only one match difference between winning and losing a cup final, that's a pretty dumb thing to say, it's too simple, and doesn't make sense as a differentiation to us (given that we have reached several finals). Winning IS hard, otherwise everyone would be doing it, and winning consistently (which Newcastle haven't done yet) is VERY hard, and those on here who regularly mock that suggestion must just be thick, the data of how few teams achieve consistent success is there for all to see...Off the pitch financially we are probably better run.
But on it, most definitely they are in a better place than our club,if anyone doesn't think so then I really don't know what to say to them.
I've got the prick on ignore, so sadly I'll miss his pearls of two tier wisdom.
Nothing dumb at all, they got it over the line, yes we have been to finals and achieved nothing.I don't disagree that they are better than us on the pitch right now, but that's not what your post was saying at all. LOL. What a way to try to make yourself feel better. Keep at it, you'll need it.FFS, they've won one trophy, you all talk as though they've done the treble or something. Again, lots of deflection there (much of which I agree with), trying to wriggle away from what you said earlier - for me, you can't define clubs as 'ambituous' or 'not ambitious' on the basis of a single match (performance in a final being the difference between our trophy count and Newcastle's this century), but clearly for you, you can define on a single match. So be it.Nothing dumb at all, they got it over the line, yes we have been to finals and achieved nothing.
Open your eyes and look at our players attitude, no demand from the top to achieve.
They go through the motions then leave, to fulfill their dream elsewhere, same with our young players, they will look to leave after the mess the club is in.
Ange is a joke of an appointment, the team should have been good enough to have won the league cup, but winning it WAS too hard for them.
What do you mean, make myself feel better? It's all fucking shit for us at the moment, I know that. But I also know that Newcastle winning a single cup final doesn't suddenly make them the greatest most successful team in the world. What's your point? :/LOL. What a way to try to make yourself feel better. Keep at it, you'll need it.
Well they won. Give them credit. They have done a good job and their trajectory is upwards. What do you mean, make myself feel better? It's all fucking shit for us at the moment, I know that. Yes they won, yes I give them credit for that, yes they have done a good job, and yes their trajectory does seem to be upwards (I say seem because they weren't as good last year as the year before...)Well they won. Give them credit. They have done a good job and their trajectory is upwards.
Ours is not. You just look like a sad jealous whiner.
Wow mate , really are a strange one aren't you.Again, lots of deflection there (much of which I agree with), trying to wriggle away from what you said earlier - for me, you can't define clubs as 'ambituous' or 'not ambitious' on the basis of a single match (performance in a final being the difference between our trophy count and Newcastle's this century), but clearly for you, you can define on a single match. I don't know what possessed me to open this thread again tbh, I should know by now the kind of people who frequent it. :/
Yes lots of teams beat Liverpool over2 legs especially with an injury hit team. We have had many better chances of a trophy in the past even in Poch’s time. Ange was to blame for a League cup failure the previous year as he played a weakened team away to Fulham in a year where we had no European matches.Nothing dumb at all, they got it over the line, yes we have been to finals and achieved nothing.

Failure and Tottenham seem to go hand in hand.Yes lots of teams beat Liverpool over2 legs especially with an injury hit team. He should not be judged on losing to Liverpool. The Europa cup is more realistic. Poch losing a semi to Portsmouth was far worse.
