I think if Orient win the playoffs then him staying there makes sense. He’s established and will be treated more as part of the first team whereas any other loan runs the risk of him not adapting.
Whilst I’d like him to come back and get minutes, another year playing men’s football, especially at a higher level, will make it more likely he’s ready to play a bigger part in 26/27.

Completely agree. Bright future ahead - we're due a HG player regularly starting for us again.

I'd still be looking to bring in a more experienced foil to Madders, especially with his injury history.

Ff ms how old is he? Why can’t we bring him back and put him first team squad. We are happy to have player who are same age or younger play in our first team like gray, berg, tel, Wilson, etc. However our own players they have to go on loan to get minutes playing in men’s football. Why is good for one set and not the other. The players we have bought and given more minutes to than any of our academy players are they that much better or have had plenty of first team football. I want to see all our players back given a chance. Use our money to buy proven top quality rather than young foreign players who fans will then make excuses for like being young, language, getting use to PL, living in foreign country and all the other bollocks BS. Let’s be brave as our motto says and give our own players chances.

If he stays at Orient, he might even get the chance with them!!

It's Devine I'm more intrigued by... will him AND Vuskovic both be at Spurs next season?
He's clearly thrived in Belgium...
I wouldn't be surprised to see them both integrated into the Squad next year...
Especially if we are looking at the likelihood of Romero, Bissouma, Werner and Richie NOT being at the club come August, added to the fact Son isn't getting any younger...

The idea of Devine, Donley, Moore, Tel(?) and Odobert being our AM options next year is exciting, but would be even more exciting if we added someone established (like Eze?) Into the mix!!!
Fick tell just get EzE no more expensive punts on young foreign players when we have our own. Solomon would probably do better than tel.

He’s 21 in January. Age not a barrier. His position is also one of the more forgiving ones in terms of making mistakes.

The biggest issue is probably going to be the player himself. Does he want to be on the bench or maybe not even involved in the matchday squad or have a much higher chance of playing week in week out?

Maddison and Kulu both injured a fair bit. You’d think he’d get a chance of minutes.

I just hope the new manager will start early this summer and gets the chance to assess the "on loan" players. Devine, Donley, Dorrington, Philips, Vuscovic, Lankshear, Scarlett plus the Keepers.

I agree with the posters saying, why play young bought players over our own players.

in pre-season he played left back. Very good on the ball but not particularly quick. Clearly a number 10 in how he plays. Hard to know if he can step up but being one of the best players in league one on your first loan is positive. He started badly but has been great since then. Dorrington also seems to be making strides with Aberdeen now. Really important to get these young players men’s football to toughen up and give them the best chance of breaking into the first 11.

Been saying the sane for ages. The arguments many raise against our own young players could be aimed at young players bought in.

Donley's got a great vision of where other players are on the pitch and the passing to get those other players into positions threatening goal.

His assist was due to him seeing the situation, running with ball and then passing to a better placed player who had an almost open goal to score in.

But some of his long passes from deep are pin point accurate to start attacks - and Pep is not going to forget THAT goal scored against his ManCity team from a position that it looked alll but impossible to threaten Man City's goal from.

Jamie Donley took a couple of months to get accustomed to Orient and playing mens football but ended the season with the highest number of assists in that division.

He has the chance in preseason to show what he can do with Spurs, but given Maddison's injuries, provided spurs manager 'guarantees' him starts and minutes, he could be a fabulous understudy/alternative to Maddison/Kulusevski as an AM next season. Or if the minutes can't be guaranteed its a loan at a higher level next season - possibly at Orient if they win the playoffs to play in Championship next season, or for a european side etc

Importantly he'd count as an u21 or List B in europe next season, so would not take up a squad place

Thanks. I love Donley and would love him part of our first team next year.

Unfortunately though Spurs fans are brutal. If that highlight reel was in a Spurs shirt there are a bunch of TFC posters who would say
“Too slow”
“Pass completion rate is horrible”
“He passed back when it was 3 on 3. No vision”
Etc.

Maybe I just hate my fellow supporters though.

On the contrary there is another group of TFC posters that will tell you he is a special talent, just needs time and will be a top player. Most of them thought the same about Winks, Dier, Skipp, Mason etc.

Take your choice which approach you prefer.

Hate isn’t the right word. There’s a group of TFC halfwits who think cheerleading and hyping players, relentlessly defending this buffoon manager and always finding excuses for failures constitutes support.

To me, it’s laughable but it makes them feel better about themselves. So live and let live, that’s all you can do.
Live and Let Live, you say. That's the name of my local.

If the O's go up I think I want him and Keely to stay another year to play Championship football
