Not sure where to put this post - this season Spurs will have played 60 games, many more than recent seasons :

38 Premier League
15 Europa League (including final)
2 FA Cup (KO 4th round, could have been 6 games to final)
5 EFL Cup (KO Semi finals, could have been 6 games to final)
60 .Total Games

That's a lot of games for any squad - maximum could have been 65 games.

Too many games for any player to play them all - I'd guess on average players would struggle to play more than 40/45 games in a season even if they kept fully fit, as more means they'd be playing weekend mid week (ie every 3 or 4 days) pretty much throughout the season with no breaks.

Worth the risk at that price.

This is the type of maverick player that made most of us fall in love with this club.

Only question would be Donley and his pathway to the first team as a very similar profile of player

Lyon fans very happy to get rid of him. PSG fans definitely don't want him though he's just made it public he'd love to go there.

Fuck signing him. He's a massive dickhead who can dribble a bit. Proper Ben Arfa regen.

He's not like Ben Arfa. Ben Arfa was all about the dribble, end product secondary. Cherki can dribble a bit but that's not really what he's all about, it's his tight space vision and passing and creativity that is more prevalent.

I get he's flawed without the ball, and may be a bit of a dick, but for 25m, when you think what we've spent on some absolute fucking munts - even Kulusevski cost us nearly double what Cherki would cost - and Cherki at worst would give us equal versatility as Kulusevski (he can play anywhere across the front RF/LF/10) and much better final third reliability.

All we ever seem to buy is flawed footballers, we might as well have a value one who at least has some fucking reliable ability.

Watching Lyon in EL, he’s a lot better off the ball than he was as well

Ben Arfa was a world class talent who wasted his talent due to his attitude. Just like Stéphane Dalmat...and Taarabt...and Ndombele...
I don't know Cherki personally so I can't say what's "wrong" with his attitude but if he's as bad as some Lyon fans claim he may not be the best of atmosphere creator. Bad attitude doesn't just affect just the player itself but the whole squad.
So many fans are upset with Johnson - game after game - for his lack of defensive work...so don't expect Cherki to be doing more back-tracking.
Anyway, Spurs spend a lots of their scouting system, if it really is worthy the risk they really should know.
