No he's not. He owed us that trophy after putting us through the worst PL season in living memory.

Sorry but fuck that shit about we owe him something.

The guy was lucky beyond belief to even get the chance to manage us in the final last night, he should have been long gone.

The least he could do was win that trophy as a way to say thanks to the fans.

But no way should we give him another season out of sentiment. Remember if we had lost last night, it would have been toxic beyond belief, the clubs would be in the depths of despair, 17th in the league and won fuck all. The club would have been in as bad a place as it has been for decades,

It's incredible the difference winning last night has made to the mood at the club now, but fucking hell was it really do or die. Ange should count his lucky stars we won that game, because the alternative was quite literally a disaster.
Its not sentiment at all, Postecoglu has proven to Levy we can ONLY fight on one front ever, choose the league and perhaps finish 5th, 6th, or where ever of go for a trophy and disregard the league...you cannot have both.
Over to Levy, get in at least 4 or 5 experienced players and see what we do.

United were absolutely horrendous, no one can argue about that. The trophy does not shrink if we acknowledge the fact that we had a relatively easy run and the final opponent didn't turn up. It all looks the same in print
You can only beat what is in front of you and we did. That is all that matters. In 10 - 20 years. None of these little things will matter. Only the victory.

I don't, but I admit I wouldn't put my house on it.

I think the main reason Ange stayed was

1. To see the Europa League run conclude.
2. Our desired targets aren't available until the summer.
3. We plan on a major revamp of the backroom staff and replacing Ange midseason made that revamp very difficult.

That's it.

All the noises have been, the entire coaching staff and Ange are being sacked over the summer. It's a clean slate.

Combine that with Paratici's impending return, he'll have his own plans.

Nah, all of the signs point to Ange leaving. I am all but absolute certain.
I would leave Daniel Levy a chance to retain him after this, if not for Paratici's return. When he arrived last time he scuttled a deal with a manager that was all but done. He's going to want his own choice in there and to set things up as he wants them. I will be more than pleased to see us make a new plan, because Ange could never meet our aspirations of besting the best opponents over a season, winning the league or the CL

A key factor IMO that is being overlooked in this endless insufferable Ange In/Out debate is, who replaces him? Will that person be substantially better? Will the staff, player, and potentially style turnover (again) be worth it? There are a handful in the world for whom that's a definite yes. But Iraola? Silva? McKenna? Not sure those are significant upgrades? And whoever it is won't have the bond, belief, and cred that Ange now has with the players.

We beaten United twice in the league - they were shit.

We beaten United en route to League Cup semis - they were shit.

We beaten United to win the Europa League - they were shit.

Fuck me. Why would some posters keep discrediting the effort of the club he/she supports, if he/she does support.

Were they not shit then?

If you're 17th in the league after 37 games, you don't deserve to stay just because you manage to beat the 16th placed side or some minnows from Norway. That take is just ridiculous. AZ, Frankfurt and Bodo don't even play in the Premier League. We're going to play PL and CL sides and Ange is clueless at that level. Get rid after the league is over. Let him finish in 17th place to show what a clown he is.

It's a difficult one for sure. I can see the argument from both sides, as our league form has been utterly atrocious and, in virtually any other season, would have seen us relegated. However, the trophy does change the landscape somewhat.

I've been watching Sky Sports news today and paid particular attention to the Football finance expert who was saying just how much money Utd will miss out on by not getting to the CL, money that will now come to us. He reckons it's around £100M, with things like sponsor bonuses, additional games etc. That wasn't even taking into account getting to the final. Progression in the CL can lead to anything up to £200M in additional revenue.

Apart from actually winning the trophy itself, that is also what AP has brought to the club by winning the EL.

As such, I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he'll be moved on before next season.

I won't lie, I have the same concerns that everyone else has, but he's done a bit more than just win us that long sought after trophy, he's also bolstered the bank account significantly. What remains to be seen is whether that money is used wisely.

I think any sane Spurs fan has every right to have concerns about the league form.

But Ange will be here to start the season so we may as well go into it with the good vibes of a team that just won a major European trophy.

We’ve had so many shit anti climax season ends, why not enjoy this one?

He still definitely has the dressing room. Not often you get big bonds like this between managers and players. I say we ride this train a bit longer and see what else he can deliver :angehug:

We shall see. There's no doubt the players were 100% behind him. He had the backing of all the locker room leaders. Son, Vicario, Romero. Porro and Johnson too. You know Archie and Bergvall will run through a wall for him.

Wonder if Ange staying has any impact on Romero or is he already gone?

Couldn't agree more mate.

Now is the time to just kick back and bask in the reflected glory. Then we'll see what next season brings when we reset.

One thing is for sure though, we absolutely MUST spend that money wisely, but that's for the Summer window, not now.

I don't know why people get upset about saying that we had a fairly easy run to win the trophy. We played an average Frankfurt, Bodo fucking Glimt (wtf are they?) and the worst United side in living memory.

It takes nothing away from our glory, or success. But it seems some can't look at things objectively.

Obviously nobody cares who we played to win it, and nor should we/they. All that matters is history saying Europa League Winners 2025 Tottenham Hotspur

But when it comes to assessing the manager, this stuff does matter. I am not sure why some people say those 3 wins are enough to keep a manager, over a horrendous 38 game PL season.

Ange did great in the Europa, that's fantastic, but we won't be in that competition next season. We will however still be in the PL, and he's been utter shit in that.

We played a load of average teams but not one of you thought that we'd win this competition before a ball was kicked...

Well, is it any wonder many of us had no confidence we would win when we've been so utter shit all season long? And we were the bookies favourite at the start.

Easy to mock people with the benefit of hindsight now isn't it.

Which one of you was gassing up this loser last week, hanging off the end of his cock just because he was being 'straightforward' and 'honest' lol what bollocks

The guy's an utter loser, he's ready to jump ship because the job is too big for him even though he's partly responsible for their form right now. :D
