Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It will be interesting on how the club move with this, I don't think you can sack him just to hire a Frank or Iraola or Silva, I think you genuinely need a big name like Xavi so you can justify the sacking.

He’s not getting sacked.

Doubt it will be that interesting at all.

The transfer market will be more interesting imo. Part wondering if Levy and Paratici try to hunt a big fish or even 2.

Just look at their management CV’s.

Xavi wouldn’t have been considered for the Barca job if he wasn’t a Barca man.

It’s a bit like Lampard at Chelsea.

Did Lampard win the league at Chelsea?

What am I looking at on their CV's btw, do you mean more experienced as in they've managed longer or do you mean more experienced in the type of competitions they've managed in?

Here's to you Ange:
Onwards and upwards next season!

LOL.

Some of you are going to be devastated when he is sacked next week.

If we don't hear leaks via the usual journalists that Ange is staying over the next few days, he is 100% gone.

The silence is deafening in terms of there has been nothing from the club backing Ange in any shape or form whatsoever.

If he was going to be our manager next season, you'd expect to hear something along that lines from the club over the next few days.

Why would they release a statement backing him, straight after a trophy win? I don’t think you can read anything into it right now.

My guess is he starts next season.

This conversation is frankly ridiculous, and boring now. Palace beat 2 better sides in City and Villa than we had to face throughout the whole EL, you can talk about 12 extra games but look at the standard of half those sides, Bodo x2, Rangers, Qarabag, Ferencvaros, AZ Alkmaar x3, Elfsborg, if you're telling me the side with the 9th highest revenue in the world shouldn't be well equipped to batter those sides with a 2nd string side and stay competitive in the league on the weekend you're fucking dreaming, Villa manage it with half our resources, Glasner's won the same cup as Ange at a team with 1/5th the resources, and didn't tank the league to do so. He told us all he was chuffed with his summer window, he's headhunted half the players, it was his responsibility to balance the competitions and he failed to do so. I don't know how people aren't angry that he's saying we've been going through the motions in the league since january considering the only actual stiff opposition we came up against in the EL through to the final was Frankfurt, and we beat them with fucking Conteball.

Because most people dont give a shit and are celebrating winning a trophy rather than finding reasons to take the achievement away from the players, manager and club.

Name.Checks.Out.

Longer management experience, managed in the prem etc.

Maybe I’m in the minority here but I don’t put a huge store in their overall managing capability if they’ve only ever managed Barca or Madrid (Xavi and Zidane). Those teams ARE expected to win and I believe anyone with a half decent knowledge of football could achieve reasonable results there. It’s a bit like Kompany at Bayern.

Not a single person will be as devastated at him being sacked as you will be if he stays.

Context is important though and Xavi did a pretty impressive job at Barca when they initially had their financial crisis, I hear you on the Prem experience though but it's not always as cut and dry as that - Arne Slot just totally disproves that theory.

Anyway I'm not even pining for Xavi, just trying to 2nd guess the club on how they're gonna make this move...I really don't see the club sacking Ange if a 'big name' isn't available, the optics wouldn't look good.

The only reason I'm gonna be devastated is because it's going to be the death of this thread, some absolutely unbelievable memories in here tbh 😆

The wave of positivity I predicted is now well and truly here.
Fans, media, even rival pundits making all the noise that'll make it harder and harder to sack him.

The best team we beat in this, the first Europa League with no CL sides in it, was Man United. 16th in the PL and an absolute laughing stock here. We did it by parking the bus.

He's going to keep his job.
He's going to start next season in charge.
Everyone will be injured by October.
Again.
We will have to play good teams in Europe so no hiding behind a 3-0 win Vs Qarabag.
