So, if Romero decides to leave for a top club he's simply doing what every top quality Spurs player (in the EPL) have done before him - like Klinsmann, Carrick, Modric, Berbatov, Bale and Kane.

As we’ve seen with Trent, if the players determined to run the contract down there’s not a lot you can do.
It’s not without risks though should they get a really bad injury in their final year.

We won’t likely see him again I guess. On one hand, his loyalty to Ange feels a bit rich as he was twerking for a move for months. On the other, every player who reaches a certain level - Kane, Bale, Modric - will always want to leave, because the owner of the club won’t do what it takes to pull the team up to the top player’s level.
i like romero, but if he wants to go then fuck him. no one is bigger than the club, no one!
id like to see him given the armband, continue his partnership with VDV and take us to the level we want to go to, he is a winner and he knows what it takes to get the job done on the biggest stages.

Don’t blame the players. He’s only doing exactly what Kane realised he had to do because there is no leadership at the top of the club that wants to win.
before i would agree, but you cant deny that since the stadium has been built, money has been spent. romero could go down as a real icon of this club if he captains it into glory days.

Money has been spent on young players and punts. The wage bill has been coming down and down and if Sonny leaves this summer we could have zero players on over 175k a week. Probably all the top 5 clubs will have 4, 5, or maybe 7 or 8 in City’s case. Woolwich’s wage bill will be close to double ours by next season. We are not trying to compete.
