Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That was last summer...when it was already too late.
Anyway, my point was that there were people against buying him as he was just another young potential.

I remember the posts well.

Thing is though, even if I was on the right side of wanting Doue and Wharton, I was on the wrong side of not wanting Enrique as our manager. We all get shit wrong all the time with our opinions.

But I don’t think it’s an opinion that we’re overloaded with young players in this squad. Objectively it needs some players in their prime that produce reliable performance levels.

We should keep signing 1-2 prospects every summer but the priority has to be established players first this summer

Sane would be a good signing but I can’t help but think that people are going off the Sane they saw for City, not the recent version who plays for Bayern…he doesn’t really take his man on as much as he used to.
Yeah exactly what I was thinking. He’s still a quality player and any time I watch him at Bayern, he was class but not sure he’s going to set the world alight at Spurs. Having said that, if we can get him on a free, still think that will be a really good bit of business. He’s an instant step up from Johnson so hoping we can push it though

€35m should do the trick
We should go lower - We’ve done a masterful job of bringing down his value 😀 and Bayern have shown their hand by trying to re-sign Sane for stupid money.

If they rated Tel then he could slide right into Sane’s role in Bayern’s attacking rotation. They don’t seem to want this - so clearly Bayern don’t rate Tel (rightly or wrongly) .

Which makes it LEVY TIME! Get to work you bald cunt and to do what you do best - Drive down that fee and get us a bargain!

Don’t want to buy Tel just because he’ll be cheaper.
I can see why Bayern don’t rate him. There’s nothing about his game that jumps out as having much growth. Not great feet or smooth when dribbling, not pacey enough to make up for that. Erratic in front of goal. Doesn’t even look like he’s got a natural position.

The only place he’s going is Saudi. He’s on a ridiculously high wage at PSG.
According to goal, com he's on £208,169 - which isn't "ridiculously" compared to, say, Courtois (£241,227) or Ederson (£180,000). He may demand more now to sign a new deal.

Surrounded by better players who are on same wavelength.

It is what has always annoyed me with us. We only ever really give our promising kids a go in cup games rather than bringing them on with a strong first XI when winning games. Even Moore this season was started in games on the right wind which isnt his position. At least give them a chance. Scarlett for example has looked fairly lively when he has played but never has gotten a run out when we've been crusing games.....not that that has happened much granted.

Ederson is an interesting one as he tried to leave last summer so presumably will be off this time around. They will need to pick up a replacement.

He might be - No one knows - It’s a role of the dice/punt.

Question is - How much is the bet/transfer fee to find out? … €55 million would be a fool’s bet so let’s how far down Levy can negotiate the fee …
I don't see why we can't get him on another loan. I don't think he's done enough to justify a permanent move at this stage. If he was that hot, Bayern wouldn't be prepared to sell him.

Sane has quality well above most of our players. Haven't seen him play much this season tbh, even if he's slowed down a bit he'd probably be a good player for us. Don't particularly want a second player in our squad to have a self portrait back tattoo.

Maybe with that peak Poch team we could afford to turn our nose up but right now he would come in as our best wide player hands down.

Sane is a mistake and the club know it. Its just a bargaining tool to get Tel cheaper. It's no secret bayern want to sell Tel and Spurs want to sign him.

This is all just part of them game. Bayern want 45m, Spurs tryna get them closer to 30m.

The Sane links is all smokes and mirrors. A game of chicken. His agent is playing along too in the hope that other clubs hear he's available and get involved. He will end up getting a 300k+ deal a week with Chelsea, United or in Saudi

And for anyone who thinks Sane would be a good signing. Ask yourself the below questions and you won't like the answer.

1. Why are bayern letting him go on a free instead of offering an extension?
2. Why are Man City not interested in bringing him back on a free?
