He wasn't sacked because it would've meant Mason and the club for whatever reason wanted him to see out the season.

You don't keep a manager in charge due to a cup run, unless it's the champions league. We finished fucking 17th.
He's kept in the job exactly because of the cup run. How many times have we heard he could be sacked if we couldn't gone past Frankfurt? Nobody can ever give him sticks for throwing the league away because whole world knew his last only merit then was to get past Frankfurt, then Bodo, and by then would be to finally win it. He accomplished them all. What fuck more does he need to do? The agenda is sickeningly strong in some tweets and in here to rewrite history.

I feel like the dirty little secret is that it's really been all the Americans supporting Ange from the beginning.

His whole devil-may-care schtick both on and off the pitch is very much tuned to an American sensibility. Whereas there's a lot about the standard rhetoric of English football we find baffling.

I take it you've never seen the dribbling idiot on the left trying his hardest to rationalise why Ange is the best manager every that nobody can replace?

English, long standing Spurs fan. Even the less dim brother has pivoted 180 degrees back into keeping Ange.

Today they actually dismissed Frank becsuse he hasn't got any experience managing in Europe.
Technically neither had Ange. Getting spanked out of Europe with Celtic doesn't count.

Outing yourself with not knowing the club's history. Your post comes across like you've misheard something and assumed it to be true.

Doesn't matter how you perceive the prestige - it is not our first "major" trophy since 1984. Accept the L and move on
Accept the L? What are you 15?

Grow up ffs...

You obviously don't know me, feel free to read back through my posts and realise what utter shite you are spouting...

You probably weren't even born when Gazza scored and the famous "this is schoolboys ownstuff from Barry Davis, or when Mabbut lifted the FA cup and you are coming at me with this tripe.

Seriously

People say this because we played Bodo Glint in the semi's but I like to remind them that Bodo side knocked out Lazio, hardly a small club.
In this modern strong period since 20/21 Bodo/Glimt have played 38 home games in Europe.

They've won 30 of them, including beating the likes of Roma, Lazio, Besiktas, Porto, Olympiacos, Twente, AZ, Dinamo Zagreb, and yes, Ange Postecoglu's Celtic. And scoring an absolute shedload of goals doing it, they've run riot pinging it about on that plastic pitch.

In those 38 games, including matches with Woolwich and Ajax, Spurs were the first team to beat them in Bodo by more than one goal.

We completely erased them in that game, which was a bigger feat than it got credit for.

With the timing of this sacking, right after reaching by far the biggest height of his career, his ascendancy to a mythical status among some people here will be complete. Even more so if his replacement doesn't hit the ground running, whether Frank or anybody else.

He is leaving a club that he has always held in contempt not only with a hefty payout in his pocket, but also with his reputation improved. He's hardly a suffering victim here, so I don't feel the need to mourn him.

It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.

I think there is now way too much noise about Frank, or more specifically that Postecoglou will be relieved of his duties, to dismiss it as rumour.

What I struggle with is that a fair number of posters are talking Postecoglou and seemingly ignoring what's best for the club. It was the same with Kane. It's just bizarre to me.

It's about where we want this great club to be, and that's all that should matter.

Is Frank good enough? Well, Postecoglou's argument is that it's taken him a long time to get the chance. Frank has been in the PL,knows the gig, handles himself calmly and seems to generate something worthy of a team on the pitch. What's there not to admire and like?

Let's see how this goes , but we need t strip the personality and noise about Postecoglou and remember it's THFC, first, middle and last.

Sorry but that is such a bullshit narrative and one that I've heard a few people spouting and drives me utterly crazy.

The Europa is a lot harder to win than an FA Cup. For starters if you are in the Europa you have to play a minimum eight extra games and all of the travel that entails, Thursday > Sundays which we know is an absolute killer. And probably contributed heavily to our injuries.
Then you play home and away another what 8-10 games home and away to actually win it?
You make it sound like away to Frankfurt in a hostile atmosphere is a piece of piss...

The FA cup, you come in at the 3rd round. Play what? 5 games, no replays, straight to penalties and its totally random. You might win it without having to play any of the teams you mentioned. Most times you might play one of the clubs you mentioned.

I love the FA cup but it is nowhere near as prestigious or difficult to win as a Europa. People say this because we played Bodo Glint in the semi's but I like to remind them that Bodo side knocked out Lazio, hardly a small club.

This years Fa cup runs to the final. Make of them what you will……
