I don't get how anyone is excited by Frank. Yes we'll be more organised and harder to beat than under Ange. But that's it.

It's underwhelming. It's Nuno all over again. It just doesn't fit! It's an acceptance that challenging for top 4 every year is enough. That's the ceiling for spurs!
Nobody has any idea what Franks ceiling is as a manager, he’s done an incredible job at Brentford. Nobody knows how that translates at a bigger club.

I’m sure when Dortmund hired klopp from mainz (who he was relegated with and failed to bring back up) there were people saying “what’s he won” but look how that turned out. There’s countless examples of managers doing a good job at a middling team, getting a move to a bigger club and excelling.

Frank isnt my number 1 choice, in fact he’s probably not top 3 but to say it’s “nuno all over again” is just such a lazy take. What i also don’t get is this narrative now that it HAS to be a big name manager who’s won stuff, when a couple years ago we apparently didn’t want that anymore because they don’t get their superstars and it doesn’t work. Nothing has changed in ownership because we won europa, any manager is still managing under the same circumstances as before.

Frank is a good manager, just how good he is we don’t know Til he takes the step up.

Just because I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere:

Frank has two years left on his Brentford deal, to June 30, 2027

There is no way a club as savvy as Brentford is letting him go for a penny less than, say, the 20M Brighton got from Chelsea for Graham Potter.

The quicker we accept the club's fate, the better.

Frank is probably going to be the optimum coach the way this club operates, ENIC have set us up to be Harrods Brentford and Brighton so he'll want a manager to get the best out of players and increase their value therefore increasing the value of the club.

It's not exciting in terms of pushing us onto win the league but it's probably exciting in terms of player improvement, being stable and having a sustainable playstyle.
I'll be honest man I can't get excited by that. It's basically just copy and paste. We won't ever challenge for proper titles under Levy if he keeps going back to this.

I've stated my concerns already so won't keep repeating myself. I just think his style of management has limitations and he has already his his ceiling.

If we go for him I hope he proves me wrong. My Nuno take isn't lazy. It's an identical scenario and I'm not going to repeat my previous posts as to why.

Pennywise, pound foolish.
By this time next year frank will either sacked already out working in Denmark or Saudi Arabia or under massive pressure to be sacked . Compounded with the mid table signings he'll be restricted to

I don't know if Frank is the best choice, but in comparison to Nuno, if we are looking for someone who's done well with modest resources and want to let them see what they can do with ours, I'm for that. Nuno seemed not to be able to do better, but that doesn't mean Frank cannot.

The thing that Nuno and Frank feel like they have in common for me is that they're just sort of nice, normal blokes in a way that can't help but feel a bit small-time and like they might struggle with the crucible of attention and pressure at Spurs.

I felt this way about Graham Potter too, and what happened to him at Chelsea seemed to confirm it.

You need a certain force of personality to succeed in our circus. To Levy's credit I feel like he knows that and has almost always targeted managers that he felt could be compelling voices both inside and outside the club.

Even if you're right. Frank will be infinitely better then Ange.

He's not my first choice. But he's still about 100 places above Ange on my list. But he'll, even Erik Hamrén is above Ange.

I think that's a great point, you need someone with a force of personality at a big club, but that cuts both ways. A powerful personality will have power both for and against you, and if they aren't getting their players you're better off with a yes-man like Ange. Unless he can't do it of course.

Levy seems to have tried bringing in the biggest name he could find a few times and did not like the result. Trending toward a Frank or Iraola or whomever would seem to mean he wants to continue the pattern of someone who will never question who's in charge.

Short term there is some very easy improvements he'll make. Defensively and tactically more solid. Set up to stop teams play. We won't lose half as many games or conceded half as many goals as under Ange. The floor will rise.

My issue with Frank is our ceiling under him is aiming for top 4 and winning nothing every year. At best he gets us top 4 next year or the year after. Eventually we'll drop off and the football will be so boring that Frank gets the sack. We are talking 2 or 3 years max and little to no chance of winning anything.

It's a boring cycle.
