One season and they only finished 9 points ahead in the end. Forest have a 50% higher wage bill (Brentford have the second lowest in the league).

Hard to say how he would do at a bigger club but he's hardly a shit manager and has done an amazing job at Brentford.
It's a testament to the long term and consistent job that he's done, that BRENTFORD being comfortably mid table every season, is something that just warrants an unimpressed shrug now from many.. When in reality it has been and continues to be an astounding performance.

Frank is, without doubt , a decent manager. He has done a good job with Brentford with limited resources. Having said that, there is nothing about his managerial career to date that suggests he has the capacity to be a top manager with us.

If appointed, he may turn out to be brilliant and, if that were to happen, nobody would be more thrilled than me. The point still stands though. He has won nothing. He has no experience of managing a huge club. He has no experience of managing teams competing on all fronts. Can we be certain, that he is an upgrade on a manager who, while I accept he delivered an abject league campaign, won this club its first European trophy in 41 years? I'm sorry, I can't be certain of that. The field of available managers that meet our need is not great right now. For me, Frank is not one of them

These are my concerns too and it would just seem like another typical Levy gamble to get a manager on the cheap, and live in hope.

Just for the sake of of comparison: Ange across his entire managerial career has a winning percentage of 53% (783 games) compared to Frank at 45% (526 games). Now, Ange's win % at Spurs is 47% (101 games) versus Frank's win % of 42% (317 games which includes games at the Championship level whereas Ange stat does not). Utter madness if Levy goes for Frank.

Excellent post.

There’s some some hipster sentiment about him being mid table with less resources, which is fine. It might be why he works out but it’s a million miles from a guarantee.

Frank would be reactionary and founded on very shallow thought processes. A low risk, low reward punt.

Knowing Levy, he’s already half arsed his way into doing it and as the dust settles, the decision just looks worse and worse with every passing day.

Without doubt the most stupid way to compare managers

No, you are running down a rabbit hole here. Sure club haven't even decided on Ange's future yet so its totally separate.

Great opportunity for Mason and Spurs couldn't even guarantee him anything yet as we don't even know who our manager will be next season. Good move for him and I'm sure he'll be back at Spurs in some capacity down the line. Nothing else to it.

I meant it seems like that Sky journalist is mentioning Postecoglou in that tweet for no other reason. I'm not suggesting it's true.
