I thought he looked ok as a back up option. Maybe he didn’t show enough in training. Big jump to PL football from where he was so maybe he just wasn’t ready and it was completely the wrong move.

Doesn't really matter now anyway, club have clearly given up on him.He looked like he coped with the physicality of the EPL well.......... Looked a handful.
I wonder if he's just not suited to Spain?

Leaving him in La Liga instead of recalling after struggling for a 2nd season. If they cared about developing him they would have recalled him in Jan and sent him somewhere like Belgium or Holland to start regularly. He'll be off this summer and we'll just take the loss.

Pape Sarr counts IMO. Probaby Udogie too. I don't know what cheap is these days but they weren't that much more than BergvallThe only cheap punt we have got is Bergvall rest have been money spunked away
All three were the same sort of deal, where they were bought for around 10M at age 18-19 and loaned back to the selling club for the initial season.Pape Sarr counts IMO. Probaby Udogie too. I don't know what cheap is these days but they weren't that much more than Bergvall

Because Bergvall had yet to turn 19 when he officially joined up with Spurs he will wind up being homegrown and club trained assuming he stays, but I definitely think of all three as the same kind of deal.
Veliz was the same price point, but he came over and started training with us right away.
18, he was 17 when the deal was agreed and had to wait until he turned 18.All three were the same sort of deal, where they were bought for around 10M at age 18-19 and loaned back to the selling club for the initial season.

He looked fairly decent for us prior to his loans awayHopefully get this slug off our books asap.
Yet another hopeful punt at youth that hasn't paid off. All these N'jie to Clarke type signings cost us hundreds of millions in fees and wages, when we could just buy some decent players oven ready.
The odd Bergvall doesn't make up for the trash we turn over.

Especially with his physical presence for such a young player iCan see why he was signed
I wouldn't be throwing the towel in just yet because he's had 2 poor loan spells away
This is very much on the club to manage his next move very carefully
Probably sent to La Liga
With both loans because:
A: because of his Argentinian nationality it must be much quicker to obtain Spanish citizenship and therefore bypass the need for a work permit here.
B: he speaks the language already giving him a better insight into European football after leaving South America so young.
Yes he hasnt been suited to either Seville or Espanyol and imo given his physicality would be much better suited to German or Dutch leagues but maybe as above with citizenship at play everyones hands have been tied.
If we do loan him again next season it would be great to makesure he has every chance to succeed
Yeah to be HG you need to be playing for the club, at the latest, for the season in which you turn 19. Then you can play three full seasons before aging out of U21 status, that's the requirement.18, he was 17 when the deal was agreed and had to wait until he turned 18.
If we'd waited until he was 19 he'd not be able to become HG, as he has to be here for 3 years between 18-21.
Though technically what you've wrote is correct, he had yet to turn 19 when he joined...

Yeh our hit rate with these punts is awful. Jack Clarke anyone…Hopefully get this slug off our books asap.
