Not my mortgage but I'd have a flutter on it.

People have a deep conviction that Ange could never again produce a spell of good form, which I think is a bit silly and definitely not true.

I'd back him for a fast start to next season. Sustaining that? Well...

Well he hasn’t done it in getting on for over 1 and a half seasons now so it’s a pretty strong fucking conviction.

We’re fucked. The CL will be a disaster too.

Nah our mate Ange beat footballing luminaries like Elfsborg, AZ Alkmaar and Bodo/Glimt on his way to European glory this season, it only stands to reason we are 100% winning the CL. Barcelona, PSG, Bayern, is there really any difference between the former and latter groups besides location and kit?

Low block 10 behind the ball simple stuff hardly a Pep masterclass.
As I said I'm very happy we won the EL but it wasn't a great performance it was a final with 2 bad sides
There's been more than a few of those.

When you really think about it, there have been far more "bad" finals than good ones, which is why the likes of the 1970 Brazil Italy final still stands out, or our 1981 FA Cup replay (the original final was absolutely terrible).

You could probably count on the fingers of one hand the finals that had you absolutely glued to your screen as a neutral.

Saying ours against Utd was the worst is rhetoric, it was no worse or better than many that went before, or are likely to follow.

We go live to the toxic scenes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as it's now possible Ange Postecoglou might remain in post...

:D

(still think we should have parted ways amicably the moment he left to go on holidays but... whatever 🤷‍♂️)

Some of these same fans were the ones calling him a fat cunt when we were 17th and hadn’t won it and some of them will be right back to it when we are having the same exact results next season.

He has no actual confidence from the fanbase. Just some emotions. Even most of his supporters were turning on him before the cup.

Who's to say Levy will be sacking him after 10 games? This year Ange lasted the whole year on relegation form because "we're still in the cups" and "we've sacked too many managers". None of that will be different next year.

Nothing will be different next year unless Levy invests lots in remaking the first team (we all know he will not) or if the club can avoid injuries while in 4 competitions with Ange's play style, which we know will not occur.

I think Levy is utterly stupid about football but he can't be this focking stupid. I don't believe this report personally because it seems such an inexplicable course of action, defying any and all reason.

I'll check the news and tune in again when he's gone in Oct/Nov. You couldn't pay a team of professional writers to come up with a comedy as slapstick as Tottenham Hotspur Football club, repeating a mistake United themselves made this season except the difference between ETH's last full season and what will likely be Ange's last full season are fucking drastic.
If we go and buy 4 or 5 genuine quality players to cover the huge gaps in the squad we might, might, be able to avoid embarrassing ourselves in multiple competitions next season. Problem is, I can't remember the last time we signed 4 or 5 quality players in 1 window.

completely different to United - like completely different _

Different club, different energy, different vibes from players towards the manager

unhelpful analogy

deep conviction, lol. it's the fucking statistics you twat. but sure go bet your first born on ange repeating the form of the first 10 games. you'll get terrific odds. is gambling legal in illinois? post your bet slip
How ironic.

You whined about the personal attacks, then make a personal attack on someone who gave you absolutely no reason to, other than not sharing your view.

The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

FYI He's just been given the tin tack

I just had the time to look at the details of his sacking.

A few things have surprised me.

1/ I thought he must have failed to take Sunderland up in the play offs.
Even though I was pretty sure they had won. Maybe I dreamt it.
2/ turns out they did win the play offs. I was right.
3/. Also turns out Michael carrick was not the manager of Sunderland anyway!!

You learn something new every day.

There are two big differences with the Ten Hag thing:

1. Ratcliffe didn't hire ETH and very publicly walked in with a remit for dramatic change, he was never going to retain the incumbent manager (or incumbent anything) for any length of time. Whereas Levy hired Ange and stuck with him through the struggles of this season.

2. United very publicly were recruiting other managers and only came crawling back to ETH after they failed. That isn't true at Spurs....yet

3) He's bald.

Must be a takeover on the horizon if Ange is staying. Its the only plausible, realistic explanation.
The new guys insisting they want the opportunity to appoint their own man themselves.

Watching Harry's nervous breakdown play out live in the Ange Thread on TFC has been simultaneously fascinating and horrifying. Kinda like passing a car accident on the motorway - don't want to gawp but just can't help yourself :D

Also, their recruitment was even worse than ours and our victory has seemingly brought the club together.
