I think "that team" is viewed a little retrospectively. They scored the most goals that season but had no one of particular note in their defence. We're also talking about the younger, undeveloped version of those players.
Kind of like saying Leicester City were obviously title challengers in 15/16 as they had Schmeichel, Chilwell, Vardy, Mahrez, and Kante.

Frank is a decent option but I don't see why we have to appoint him now. Redknapp was a decent option once upon a time but we waited until it was untenable with Ramos first. That was arguably one of Levy's better decisions, to sack after 8 games.

Not that this should have anything to do with making a football decision but he is much more popular than this thread makes out.
If you were to repeat that statement to most football fans that had absolutely no other details of what’s happened over the last two seasons, then they’d think we were nuts to sack him…… but if you were then to add context to that statement there’s a fair chance they’d change their mind!

First off Frankball or Thomasball sound absolutely ridiculous so unlikely to take off. A major win.
Secondly the Danish seem a fairly well rounded bunch so it feels unlikely they'll be running onto here or elsewhere chirping up that Frank is some sort of deity who invented football.

Ramos was only just starting his first full season and had only presided over 1 transfer window before that summer in which we signed Hutton, Woodgate and Gunter. I don't think it was really a case that we were waiting to see if it was untenable at that stage with Ramos, we invested heavily early in that summer and I think Levy naively thought he could sell only Keane and hold on to Berbatov until he went on strike. I think there was a genuine belief that with the players we were bringing in and a full pre-season we would start to see what Ramos was capable of. Very different situation to what faces us now, in my opinion.
