It is not blind loyalty. I respect Ange because he has earnt his position through hard work and has never been gifted anything. He started from the very, very bottom and succeeded everywhere he has been - against all odds.

At Spurs he inherited a team that was 8th in the league and in a shambles. Kane, Lloris, Perisic, Dier, Moura, Sanchez all left and he was given the task of integrating 5 new players into the starting 11. In that season he had long injuries to Richarlison, VDV and Romero (and was forced to play Emerson Royal at CB). He still managed to get the team 5th - something every the very best Newcastle team have only just achieved by the skin of their teeth.

In his 2nd season he lost key players after the first 12 games. However, he did make a mistake - he still thought the team could compete across all 4 competitions. He was expecting injuries to Romero and VDV to be just a few games, but of course they came back and immediately were out again. Was this poor advice from the medical dept?

The club needed a trophy AND the club needed Champions League next season. By the time January came around there was only 1 way of achieving this - Europa. With the teams left in the comp, he knew he could win it and did.

IF he stays next season, my expectation is that it will be an all-out assault on winning the Premier League. We would need to bring in some experienced players to exclusively play in the Champions League games and I think we have a good enough core of young players to do well in the domestic cup competitions.
This is such a ridiculous statement. “An all out assault on winning the PL”!!!!!! Prepare yourself to be very disappointed. However I am sure you will make excuses when this doesn’t happen

I've been critical of the football sage persona placed on Ange. That's one thing he isn't. Not yet at least.

Saying that I think people are discounting the last two seasons of experience and learning he surely has gone through. I think if he stays people will see a different tactical approach in competitions.

Whatever one thinks about the man's background, it cannot be denied he has come up from the bottom of the football pyrimad to the top.

I personally don't think that's possible without a shit load of reinvention. So if he does stay that will be something I'll expect to see. He does at least have a winning mentality ( hes won something here) and gravitas that brings.

If people could be bothered to watch this doco - he clearly reinvents tactics to suit his overall philosophy... from the 18 minute mark -

So as much as he is wedded to philosophy, he's not so binary/rigid in the need to adapt and change. Unlike some of the views on here ;)

If he had been honest after he’d cupped his ear to the away fans I honestly think I’d feel different.
If he’d said, ‘they were giving me a bit of stick about the substitution so when we scored I was giving a jokey bit of banter back. Letting them know that I do know what I’m doing in a fun jokey way. And then they ruled the goal out so I looked a little foolish but that’s life sometimes.’ I’d have a lot more respect.
However, lying about the situation, and pretending that he was ‘enjoying hear them sing’ to save his ego was really disappointing.
I lost a lot of respect that day.

Larry David Larry David said literally none of this and just made an honest statement about his feelings.

Your insecurity in posting this massive screed in response to a post which never made any of the claims you alluded to is say more about you than him.

You tilting at windmills over an already won war. Very odd. Why can't you just accept that some peop genuinely want the manager to stay for their own reasons?

Cook!

So you are literally there saying we need 3 full teams to play next year, plus obviously cover for all the injuries those teams will have.
Good job we have the NFL changing rooms to cover the 50 man squad you are basically proposing we need for Ange to have a go at the Premier League

He's lost more league games than he's won.

The one thing I would say about Postecoglou is, he certainly has the bollocks for it

2 year anniversary today 👍

Whatever happens he will go down in history at the football club, no one's gonna remember how many games he's lost and hoe bad we were, history only remembers winners 😍

I think it's just fashionable to be outraged and upset at this club, probably makes people feel like they're proper fans or something.

My feeling is that if they weren't outraged by Spurs - they would be outraged by something else.

It's a personality trait made 100x worse by social media, which is scientifically designed to foster outrage and increase it.

Yeah definitely, people make people angry and negative their whole personality, I think they're just projecting real life character traits.

What this whole sorry Ange tenure has shown is that a large section of Spurs fans are actually idiots.

It's quite unreal to see us get ripped apart, Ange tactically outsmarted, every single week even by the likes of RVN, a record breaking abysmal season, 17th and 22 league defeats. Bummed by Ipswich and Leicester and horrible shit sides like that, battered by Everton ffs.

And they weren't plucky defeats, we looked clueless all over the pitch. And yet after all of that, loads want to see more of it next season.

It was torture watching us the whole season, fucking dreadful. I fell out of love with football it's been so bad. Worse than I've ever experienced.

And Bilbao doesn't make up for that I am sorry. As far as I am concered, beating a few shit sides in Europe does not wipe away all that shit we saw, and allow Ange to have a third season.

I just can't understand the thought process at all of the people who want him to stay.

It's demented, I am sorry.

There is fuck all evidence that it will get better.

He's tactically an absolute clown. He has no idea how to set up a team to win consistently in this league. The idea that we go again with him is literally insane. We will be fighting relegation.

Since the first 10 games of last season it's been bottom half form, which then became relegation form, and it's been that bad for a sustained period of time.

Even with our best team playing, we are constantly exposes by his idiotic system and tactics.

Anyway, I have a feeling tomorrow might be the day he's sacked finally.

It’s been brilliant on Twitter as a tool to work out which people to block.
