(You don't understand what a rhetorical question is? ........Bear with me and I'll "let that sink in".... : P )

What is the point of your interjection then (other than to call into question straight up facts)......?

Thanks, but it's still nothing but a tangent.

It's going to be a long summer and it's probably just best to wait and see how things shape up by windows end.
It is very frustrating as we ideally need multiple big moves, 2 or 3. I think if frank gets par out of this squad (with eze included) which i think he can then we are hovering around 5-7 place imo.

Unfortunately with changing managers comes patience to sow the seeds to then see growth especially from younger players and I certainly rate our young player very highly.

Unfortunately we want those big steps to compete at the top NOW and we could do that with 3 big players.

Solanke had an anomaly season for Bournemouth the season before last scoring 19.

He’s a 10ish PL goal a season striker that no team is ever really going to fear, and considering we paid 65 million for him I would consider that a relatively poor investment.

Gyokeres has scored 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting. Including 11 goals in 17 Champions League games. Do you realise how insane that is? To compare him to Soldado Vinicius and Vincent Janssen is just pure ignorance. He is on a totally different level to them.

The reason teams are reluctant to pull the trigger is because of his age, which is understandable considering what Sporting want for him. But his quality is absolutely undoubted.
He's played in the championship and for the best team in Portugal with 13 teams that are absolute cannon fodder.

Can belittle Solanke having a good season all you want but you don't get 19 goals in a premier league season in off your arse. He's no mug and he's proved it in the best league in the world. Not stat padding against muck for the champions of the league.

He’s a stronger ball carrier, stronger at shielding the ball in general frankly .. he also has more flair, is faster and more adaptable/better when playing out wide because of this. Maddison scores and assists more but that’s because he’s much better at set pieces, once you take away that asset from open play Eze is better at goalscoring.

I like both players but Eze adds a lot to us in multiple positions and I definitely don’t think Maddison is an objectively better player in all areas at all. It’s certainly not what I see when I’ve seen both pull on an England shirt.
By measured metrics none of this is true.

I've got another post you can dig out if you want where I compared them at length - the below is 2023-24 when Eze was hot shit.

Maddison is a better passer at every level of the field. A better creator. A better scorer and assisted from the run of play. A better tackler. A better dribbler. Eze wins a lower percentage of his takeons and is dispossessed at a higher rate. Maddison is better tackling and intercepting.

It's tight. They're both lovely players. You might be able to subjectively claim Eze would be better with better teammates. But at literally every quantifiable action on a football pitch - Maddison is categorically superior.

Again - like the both, would love to have Eze. This idea that he's a big improvement on Maddison is a myth. He is slightly younger...that's it.

Maddison will only play half the games so it would be useful to have a twin to play the other half.

I’m not desperate to sign Eze but he’s a good player who would improve our options.

Always amazed by how many posters belittle Solanke. I instantly doubt if they actually watch most of our games and just look at stats instead. Solanke had a brilliant season!

Eze will replace Son of the left. That'll be the idea! But like you said, Eze will end up playing half his games in the 10 too. Maddison rarely completes 90 mins and rarely starts 3 games in a row. Eze will be a great signing.

Davies needs to go ffs! How many seasons are we going to put up with a steady Eddie. He is basically blocking pathway for younger CBs. I don’t want hear oh his done ok when he plays.
The main issue is he's much much better than all the younger centre backs we've had, and he's proved that time and time again. Obviously everyone on here knows better than Pochettino, Mourinho, Conte, Nuno and Ange.

I 100% agree with this. Never taken issue with anyone saying sign him.

But he doesnt replace Maddison, if we sign Eze and bin Maddison we're running in place.

If we sign Eze to play LW 24 matches and ACM 12 matches, that's great.
