Kudus has one thing massively in favour of us signing him . West Ham are a worse run club with an even bigger tool in charge . So there is a chance that Sullivan’s ability to do the wrong thing trumps Levy’s inability to do the right thing

P

Makes complete sense, take the emotion out of it we are getting what we need with just one of those, another right footed 10 that drifts out to the left isn't what we need, we need someone who drifts out the the right
I understand the team shape considerations, I do.

But the whole appeal of Frank is in his ability to construct a tactical setup that best exploits the qualities of his top players, and Eze is simply a better footballer than Elliot and Kudus.

No player is a guarantee of a successful transfer, but Eze is as low-risk on that basis as they come, that is a premium worth paying. Elliot and especially Kudus have scary downside possibilities.

Build the teamsheet around the proven quality you can get with Eze.

Could you imagine if West Ham had been bought by ruthless and some what competent owner like Abramovich. Buying the likes of Cole Palmer instead of Willy Wonker. West Ham picking up the Champions League and having Jose as their Premier League winning manager.

I think you've missed the point a little bud, he's not saying we're a selling club but making point it's more bang for buck to sign players young and grow them into prime.

Economically logical yes. Ambitious, no.

I don't think so - the point was "an eye on resale". If it was about signing promising players young and growing into their prime, I don't think Gazza would have helped the argument. He was the equivalent of what we're trying to do in recent seasons

He wants to win it in the same way I want to write a best selling Pulitzer Prize winning novel. Of course it would be nice , but no way I am putting in the effort to write a book
Unless you are a United States citizen, a permanent resident thereof or consider it to be your long-time primary home you won’t even be considered.

I actually have written a novel, I was most disappointed to find this out as I thought I'd be a shoe-in if I ever manage to get it published.

It's the Booker Prize for us I'm afraid. Oh well, think of it as the Europa League to the Pulitzer's Champions League status.

Don't shoot the messenger, but this is what my mate at the papers is hearing rumblings of

Son to USA.
New contract for Romero. Will be captain and our higher paid player (more than Kane).
New contract Bentancur.
Seymenyo or Kudas preferred over Eze. Eze to expensive since we already have Mads and Kulu.
Dragusin wants first team. If Romero stays, he's gone.

Defense of the top priority. Don't be surprised if we start playing some very defensive football in preseason.

Levy wants to win the premier league this season.
This got laughed out the room but it’s not the first time Harry7 has put in info on here from his mate at the Times/Telegraph (can’t remember which exactly) about the Son Saudi rumours a few weeks ago. The only part of this I don’t really believe, is the ‘defensive football’ part but I think that’s Harry’s Ange bias seeping in.

They sell Bowen they will be relegated.

He is absolutely elite, more efficient than Saka IMO when it comes to execution and decision making. They would want £80-100m for him.
He's 28yo, English, a classy and experienced player who can score, pass, cross, run. Pretty much always fit, no big injuries. Disciplinary record is good and sounds like a decent fella off the pitch too. Yeah he's West Ham and banging that twat's daughter, but it ain't like he's Chelsea or Woolwich eh.

If we were a serious club and our chairman wasn't talking shite about winning the PL & CL, we'd put 60-80mil on the table for that kid as opposed to 50ish for fucking Kudus who is nowhere near Bowen's level.

But Levy.

Hes married to Danny dyers daughter he won't move here

Spending 100M for Elliot and Kudus instead of 68M on Eze makes precisely zero sense.

Kudus is an extremely talented player, but I would be very VERY wary of the professionalism concerns around him. The lavish London facilities and *ahem* questionable competitive mandate at Tottenham make us a uniquely high risk environment for that sort of player, imho.
We're not going to sign Kudus and Elliot. They both prefer playing on the same side so literally no point doing that.

Not sure where the competent part of Abramovich comes from. He's the guy that financed Mutu, Torres, Shevchenko, Morata, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, and Koulibaly - not just Drogba, Hazard, Willian and so on.

Chelsea were able to spend their way out of daft signings and a lot of them just lurked in the reserves, or like Piazon who made one appearance in 9 years.

They dominated the game for a fair while, but I think it's a case study of how enough money makes people blind to incompetency

I think we broke the British Transfer record for Gazza so nothing like what we have done in recent seasons . Ferguson was outraged if I recall as he felt he had Gazza deal done .

So beating Ferguson to a signing for a British Transfer record is almost the opposite of current behaviour. It’s equivalent to beating City to a player they were desperate for

As if Mick Carter will allow that. He's propa naughty don't you know.
