There are £60m players and then there are £60m players. Our wages are more limited so the range of players for £60m is less. We are happy to do big transfers just not big wages and elite players generally want elite wages.

But the whole appeal of Frank is in his ability to construct a tactical setup that best exploits the qualities of his top players, and Eze is simply a better footballer than Elliot and Kudus.
No player is a guarantee of a successful transfer, but Eze is as low-risk on that basis as they come, that is a premium worth paying. Elliot and especially Kudus have scary downside possibilities.
