Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I have him in my wishlist for the midfielder position.Like him from his Feyenoord time
He is all round midfielder - plays 6,8,10 equally well.

The transfer wont cost us 35m....

Tbh, Benfica fans are not fully on his side. He also had a spat with manager - more like the manager had a spat with him in CWC 2 weeks back...

Read somewhere he wants to go back to Turkey? I would that's not true for a player his age and talents

In the media on Jan 1st: "With Solanke out for months and no backup signed last summer, Spurs have decided to recall Alejo Veliz from his loan at Rosario Central. Thomas Frank is said to be a big admirer of Veliz, despite the young striker featuring only 8 times in the Argentinean Primera Division and not finding the net once."

Levy: "Veliz is like a new signing."

I think Kane would have suffered the same. He never looked anywhere near as good for England as he did at club level (under Southgate) because of the very "static" role. Certain players, whether it be a Grealish, Kane, Bale, Ronaldo, Messi - no ability equivalence implied - are at their best when they are allowed to roam about a bit, and suffer from being plonked on a wing or in the 6 yard box if the ball never comes to them

Nah, man.... He'd have thrived playing false 9 for Pep...... He's the perfect fit that Haaland isn't.

Estève interview from May:

“When I was young, I dreamed of playing in the Premier League. I watched basically just that on the TV […] My dream is to play for a top-six team in England. I wouldn’t say there is any club in particular but my dream is to go there,” said the Frenchman.

He then revealed that he is a fan of Tottenham Hotspur players of the past and present. “My favourite player [when I was young] was Gareth Bale when he was playing at Tottenham because when I was younger, I was a left-winger and a left-back,” said Éstève before revealing a current Tottenham defender as a player he aspires to.

“There is a player that I like a lot in the Premier League that not everyone talks about – Micky van de Ven. He is very quick and I like him a lot because I think that I have the same speedy qualities, even if he is a lot quicker. I’m inspired by him because he is a player who is of a similar profile to me,” he said.

Sounds ideal tbh.
